We expect a delivery from 200 devices on 29.10. Till today we have 59 orders, i.e. we would have a device for you anyway.
Yours sincerely,

Hopefully they are delivering QWERTZ devices and not QWERTY like described in their shop. (I'm from Austria) If they are QWERTZ and this is true I'll preorder from their shop too :D

I get the feeling they are just stringing us on hoping we will make some kick-*** software with the SDK while we wait.

You know I would, but I prefer to test it on the device itself as the SDK doesn't seem to emulate the device itself all that well. How can you even tell if something will be usable on the N900 when its tested running at the speed of a Core 2 Duo?

There are many foreign speakers too, so I think it was good idea to keep it all English.

I wouldn't call them spineless dweebs - they haven't been allowed to ask anything yet. but they are decidedly male. Wot no gurls?

Shouldn't it be made official that, in select markets, N900 should ship tommorow (2009-10-22)?

You: hello davis.

You: I have the same question millions of people are asking..

Davis: I would be glad to help you with that, may I ask who I'm chatting with today?

I cant believe that nokia postponed the release. All the while they were saying that the release is still on track. First they said middle of october and then they said end of october which was fine because it was still within thier release date they had mentioned. But November 15th is too much!

that realllly pisses me off if true, because that would mean they have just been stringing us along this whole time

Bad news is, he is telling the truth:

http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/...47/p26078.aspx

PRE-ORDER - EXCLUSIVE DISPATCH MID NOV FROM OUR NOKIA STORES.

This used to say the 30th... then end of October ...now this.

I just arrived home from the Nokia N900 Meetup in Helsinki Flagship store.

Several Maemo Team members confirmed that the logistics dept. has announced that the N900 will be on sale starting Mid-November. No explanation what happened to "end of October".

I have no doubt this is the case, since these people (some of them on the promo videos) look me straight in the eye and say: "trust me, its mid-November", in Finnish.

I spoke with a guy at Nokia USA and he said the release date is pushed to mid-November. I asked him can I trust that because Nokia USA told me it was going to be released at the end of September to beginning of October to mid October to this week to next week and now mid November. He told me that this will be the last push.

Then I asked him another question and I'd like your feedback on this part. I asked him if there was a benefit to ordering from Nokia USA over another place like Amazon because Nokia is selling the N900 for $650 and Amazon is $582. He told me that if I buy from Nokia that they will honor the warranty because other places may have received their devices from overseas and may have an IMEI for a different country. I at first had my pre-order with Nokia USA but changed it to Amazon because of the price difference (that and no tax and free shipping). Now I'm worried about my Amazon order because he said Amazon could be getting their devices from a foreign source. Is this a cause for concern?

Thanks!

i just spoke with Paul from nokiausa and said that it was really pushed back to mid November. I'm just going to cancel it and wait until it's released. What f**g pissed me off too was the fact that Paul said "what is 3 more weeks" Obviously he has no f***g clue how long we've been waiting....pleaaseeee! f**k

Just cancelled my pre-order with Amazon and ordered from NewEgg for $559.99 with free shipping. Saved $30+. NewEgg is now a better deal than Buy.com as they include free shipping.

Re: Did your N900 ship today continued

I saw the November date and couldnt believe it, so i called NokiaUSA for the second time since I made my pre-order back on September 13th. So the rep confirmed it she said mid November, you have to be kidding. I have the crappiest back up phone and it is on its last leg i have to charge this thing about three times a day. So I even went so far as to ask if they lend out phones or if They could send me a pre-production n900 "haha i tried" because i am in desperate need of a new phone. I was shut down. damn.

I was going to call T-mobile but would anyone know if they will lend a phone out or rent?
