Hmm, according to fuzenify:

So, you might need to uninstall more apps (most likely extras-devel ones) until your free rootfs space has at least ~42MB. Also, try restarting the phone, as that makes additional free space (by clearing the cache, I guess).

For those of you experiencing problems before the actual upgrade:
what about using

Code:

apt-get update
Code:

apt-get dist-upgrade
Worked fine for me

so i uninstall bunch of apps but i m still getting the same message .
WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT ?
HELP PLEASE

I removed a lots of apps but nothing helped and rootfs did not seem to get any free space. I checked the rootfs usage as follows:

du -xck / |sort -n

and it turned out that apt cache was enormous. I did

sudo gainroot
apt-get clean

and got enough space to upgrade. Everything working as expected :)

Downloading now, i've had to uninstall tonnes of apps to get 42mb free.

Bloody extras-devel should at least optify their apps! hehe

Re: New firmware? Maemo 5 update 3.2?

disabling all three extra repositorys in app manager should be enough to install the update, at least for me it was :D

Re: New firmware? Maemo 5 update 3.2?

To free up your rootfs, you can delete the "beta" directory in /usr/share/themes.

Itīs the digital nature theme.

If you delete it you have 6MB more space. ;)

Nothing yet on my Vodafone N900. Suppose it is something to do with the 205 firmware.

Re: New firmware? Maemo 5 update 3.2?

Just updated my usa version in the uk.
Free space on rootfs has gone down from 61.9 to 57.5.

I see they have fixed the static ip wifi problem by installing the script from the bug list!

Re: New firmware? Maemo 5 update 3.2?

UK Vodafone, update worked no problems.

Didn't need to make any changes and nothing to really report other than

1) when I ran app manager to check for updates it said "No Updates" but then showed the update in the list.

2) Got a worrying message just as install started saying "Operation Failed" but the install carried on with no problems.

All my repos are still in place.

Device does seem quicker,

I noticed someone mentioned a change to https, hopefully this will stop the bug I have that prevents me downloading large files of https.

Re: New firmware? Maemo 5 update 3.2?

Germany - worked perfectly via OTA; everything still in place (didn't make any backups) - rootfs is down by about 5MB; having about 50MB still free I'm afraid if this will enough for PR1.2.
Device seems to be snappier - great!

I also got the "No Updates" but then it listed the update, and the "Operation Failed" message right before it installed the new update without issue.

If you pull the plug you kill your device.

I had this problem with the software updater, too. After many mintues the program canceled the process so I had to flash the device with the maemo updater. But it doesnīt run under win7 x64
