Just one question on the Comms tab GPS position just says "location" instead of the co-ordinates dont know if thats been mentioned. The gps does kick in but only for about a second.

hmmmm wonder why it doesn't want to do it as a dependency :(

Have pulseaudio-utils as a dependency, and auto-builder isn't flagging it up as a problem :(

hmmm i should really figure out the proper fix or remove the sound test :(

noobmonkey 2010-03-06 09:14

Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900

hmmm still not 100% Clear...

Latest package has the dependency - http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...check/0.5.2-5/

Pulseaudio-tools is a valid link - http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...-1maemo27+0m5/

Squirrel, is there any error message or reason why it won't install?

Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900

Thats a different version to the one I pulled in. I've got the latest version.
Pulseaudio-utils 0.9.15-1maemo35+0m5_armel.deb
Don't know if that matters?

ones probably in testing or devel

Shouldnt matter though, as all i'm doing is setting pulseaudio-utils as a dependency in my build.py file......

Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900

oooo
intruiged....

By that do you mean hardware or software?
At the moment all tests and info i have are quite simple 1 steppers... so click a button and show. Keyboard would be an interesting one......

Wonder if it is possible for me to show the onscreen keyboard for a few seconds lol.....
(And maybe name which on screen one is loaded?)

Thanks for the niceties :D

hardware test//

when press : S show S
when press : W show W

lol good point, could just be a simple input box to start, but also a second one that tests multiple inputs? (Like ctrl + another key)

Mazi 2010-03-06 12:43

Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900

yes for sure multiple input also must add

ooo nice logo.... but not sure what you mean?

Do you mean a desktop widget - or show that somewhere in my app?

Mazi 2010-03-06 13:02

Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900

we add your app on our desktop and always see logo ...if we press that we go to app ok?

so it is useful if we have % of battery on logo so we can see battery status without going to app//

noobmonkey 2010-03-06 13:05

Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900

ahhh to do that i would need to make it into a widget..... (I could do that separatley after getting the app working though)

noobmonkey 2010-03-06 14:08

Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900

think i need to concentrate on getting it into extras at the moment...

Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900

hey monkey, looking good!
i downloaded the latest one and noticed you have uber-debugging in now!
that should make it easier diagnosing any random issues people might have.
i still think the dependent python libs themselves wont have the same sort of logging tho, so if things fail inside those libraries you still won't know.

Re: [Annouce] HealthCheck - Hardware/System checker for the N900

good to hear some ninice feedback on the icon. will message him later and let him know!

gonna try and pull the ip without using the net, so to speak. don't want to force an internet connection if it is not needed.
pretty sure dbus will let me pull the wlan and other ip too.

Additional comments:

Thumbs Up
Don't vote up an application before having a good understanding of its quality based on your own testing and the opinion of other contributors involved.

Thumbs Down
Whenever you decide to vote an application down, please leave a comment describing the issues you found. The best feedback is a bug report from the bug-tracking system of the application because it allows the developers and testers to track and discuss the problems effectively. Voting thumbs down without any explanation doesn't help the developer in providing better software for you and the end users.
Thanks in advance for any help.

10 days anyway - I'm not sure whether the 3 testing squad votes requirement has been implemented yet or not.
