huh? ripped? from the net? We know not such things. Simply insert your original PS1 game into the n900 and it'll work fine.

its a serious question son are you taking you old ps games from the cd and imaging them to the pc then transfering them to the n900? or are u getting them straight from the net?

well moving on....

actually had to grab my old ps1 controller to check ...:o would we beable to get bindings for R2 L2? gonna try the sixaxis controller but i imagine if there are no bindings in the config it wont solve it, but hey i can hope.

Actuelly thats a bug that happens sometimes, where psx4all dosent close properly.

When it gets slow again, try typing "top" in xterm and check how many psx4all apps you got running. I had 3 once, running in the background. My cpu was at 100% all the time.

To fix, type "killall psx4all", and now it runs fast again :)

the key mappings are incorrect when you set up psx4all. also has anyone got breath of fire 4 to work? when i get to the set of stairs at the very first 'cliff' area i cant get by. like theres an invisible barrier

I can't find this file in home/user.

For some strange reason, left arrow key is functioning as a pause button. I really do need to reconfig the buttons!

Emu is working pretty well, though, overall. But Tekken 2 and SF2EX are not displaying any game screens past the setup screens, although they are playing, i.e. shows black screen and sounds of game playing.

Just for the record, I check my-maemo every day and find it invaluable for catching newly announced software that I miss on the talk.maemo.org front page.

my-maemo is where I found out about pcsx-m and psx4all. After that I was able to find the relevant threads on talk.maemo.org and then I was able to contribute a cash donation to the developer.

I wouldn't have been able to do my part to support the developer of this software had I not first found out about his work on my-maemo.

Thanks for this, i just noticed large battery drain and there it was psx4all about 90-100% cpu :) I want to know too if we can map keys for R2 and L2, can be very handy on few games!

So far i've managed to play:
Driver - slow
Gex - playable
Abe's Odyssee - playable but missing R2
Resident evil 3 - bit slow
Granturismo - slow
Kula World - playable

I'm running FFVII at a decent speed, but I've a problem every time it starts the first battle. What's the config for it runnig well?

I'm using the version from extras-devel and the psx4all custom BIOS.

sounds like your using the first release, go to App manager and do Update, should be a update install for this. FF7 runs fine on it. Playing it myself atm. :D also id set the cycle multiplier to about 4 or 5 should give you better gameplay.

The newest version has a crashing problem. If you download the previous version, you'll be able to play at least until after the first boss (it's how far I've gotten)

hi, has someone been able to load tekken 3 or wipeout 3 with the last version installed i know thar this games worked with older versions, but they don't work know or i can't make them work. (it happens also with ffvii).

I'm not angry. I got used to people copying my blog posts.

And if someone just copy-paste my blog post at his site and signs by his name, I call it by name: plagiarism. It does not matter what reasoning you have. Even if you do it in good will, it is still plagiarism.

Do you mind if I ask which version you have? I downloaded PSX4ALL today and also looked for updates just now, but I'm still getting the crashing after first battle (and slow intro video) problem.

Also does anyone know where the config file is?

The latest version has a crashing problem. The version before the last one works flawlessly.

Thanks very much. Installed. Though the intro isn't particularly smooth (though hey! I never even thought anyone would get anywhere near even starting to emulate the playstation on this phone so... yeah :P).

Turn frameskip off and set the multiplier between 4 and 10. I also kill pulseaudio in Xterminal because turning off sound in the program doesn't work.

use the scph1001.bin bios, cpu multiplier to around 6, leave everything else default, or turn off fps if you wish

all my games do this just crash after the bios only game i have got running is wwf warzone which loads fine apart from when the match starts i cant see the players as the camera goes elsewhere under the ring. Crash racing demo works till where the press start menu comes up then just crashes bak to the desktop..
Is there somthing im doing wrong like settings wise? or these games just dont work?

I already wrote that in case of such a short, one sentence long information it's not really possible, nor does it make much sense, to try to use different wording. And I think that just using different wording to say the same would actually be WORSE than quoting you directly. THAT would be using your text and pretending its someone elses.

I also wrote that having no possibility to try the emulator myself (due to not having any PSX games and not wanting to use pirate copies) I could only rely on YOUR information about the program. It'd be dishonest if I wrote something I didn't test myself, hence I quoted you, the AUTHOR.

It is sad that you are blind to ANY arguments. But you apparently are, so it doesn't really make sense to continue this discussion. I got several messages from people saying that while you are a great programmer, at the same time you are clearly a person not really able to normally discuss such things so I should just ignore you. And it turns out that they are right, so I will follow their suggestions. You haven't even answered to any of my posts (while you commented on everyone else's), clearly showing everyone that you won't talk with such a nobody like myself. Tough guy! Normally I'd expect an apology for what you said, but in your case it's like utopia.

The only thing I'd like to add is that if you are so allergic to quoting you, you should consider INFORMING about it in some noticeable way (like e.g. a small note in your blog), or else people just can't know it and won't guess it as it is a rare disease no one else suffers. Some developers pay money for being quoted and linked to.

In last words, let me congratulate you on your programming skills (Maemo definitely needs developers like you and such great releases) and suggest you to think twice before calling people thieves and such, especially those whose only intention was to promote your work for free.

Considering that Sony stopped manufacturing PSOne in 2006, I would not count on any newer BIOS. ;)
