Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
Update on my lockscreen to work with the latest update of this software
ini file: http://www.atox-d.com/testGround/tem...lockconfig.txt Portrait mode: http://www.atox-d.com/testGround/tem...725-021822.png Landscape mode: http://www.atox-d.com/testGround/tem...725-021537.png |

@sakya When you view a lokscreen in Landscape, then try and rotate to Portrait, it appears all jumbled up, just a quick bug report :) |

Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
I hope that mine (and few others users, who I thanked) posts about extraordinary high (for such a app) memory usage, won't be lost in 4 pages of design talk ;) Maybe posts about problems and design should be put in separate threads?

Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
Hi Sakya
Can you tell me where is located all icons of the qtlockscreen (media player buttons, battery etc...)? The full path ? Thanks |
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
Im not getting the background shown properly.
I've set the bacground to 800x480 and 480x800 but it is placed weirdly. What am I doing wrong ? |
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
unfortunatley i have removed qtlockscreen because of being rescource heavy. which is a shame because it's great, but since removing my device is back to it's normal self. i was using a lockscreen that had thumbnail of album art which showed in top even though it didn't actually show in the lockscreen. i could use a lite lockscreen like one i've just seen.

Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
Does anyone know if it's possible to have fonts with different size in portrait and landscape?
|
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
everything to fine
just want a bigger battery icon only |
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
@Estel, corduroysack, etc.
I haven't (yet) tested QtLockscreen, but I know that the Qt libraries take quite a bit of RAM, which is shared amongst the running Qt applications. Check also here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=57337 You could try checking used RAM (e.g. with free) before and after running this app just to make sure. Result will most likely depend on whether you are running other Qt apps. If you do test this, please report your findings. I might install QtLockscreen as well, but since I don't quite see the use of it (I usually unlock if I want to see what's going on), I'm not sure I will :) |
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement

Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
did anyone achieve a different size of albumart in landscape/portrait view?
i tried it with a second albumart widget with defined SizeL="0;0" but this also affects the size in portrait view like normal widget... WHY?? :( |
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
Yeah, I'm trying that too but there seems to be a bug. You can set the two different sizes, but it will only load the size for the thing you are currently at.
Right now I have a big album art for portrait and smaller for landscape. If I am at landscape and a new song comes up, the album is loaded with the small size. I flip to portrait and it stays with the small size so there's a gap. Now if a new song comes then it loads the big size, so if I flip back to landscape it gets clipped. The widget should load both sizes automatically and display appropriately. |
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
The problem with album art is:
-When the album art is loaded it is scaled to fit the size you set in the settings (keeping aspect ratio). -When you change from portrait or landscape it's too late: the image has been scaled. :) I'll fix this... |
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
Wow sakya, you are doing such great work. I think QtLockscreen is actually going to replace my music player! :D

Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
The updated version's .ini file is now called QtLockscreen.ini.default so if you want to use it just remove the .default at the end.
|
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
The updates never overwrite the configuration file (do you want your lockscreen to reset to the default every time you update?).
The default configuration file is always copied to /home/user/.config/sakya/QtLockscreen.ini.default (so you can check if there are new instructions in the comment or so) |

Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
Thanks for this great app. Instead of the N900's default mechanism where the screen goes off after a specified timeout, is there an option where the screen can just dim instead and show the lockscreen? Something like what the htc hd2 and other models do? Is there perhaps some command to do it? If there isn't , is there a possibility of having this feature in qtlockscreen? At the risk of possibly higher battery drain, I would much rather see the lockscreen than have my screen go off after a while.

Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
can some one please help us all with a step by step procedure to install this amazing thing..
also is a GUI based version coming any soon ? |
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement

and to install , simple use the app manager , it's in devel . and to edit your lockscreen go to /home/user/.config/sakya/ here you will see two files edit Qtlockscreen.ini |

Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
The documentation for the format is here:
http://doc.qt.nokia.com/latest/qdatetime.html#toString I think he made three datetime widgets: -one for the time with format "hh:mm" -one for the "AM/PM" with format "A" -one for the date From the documentation "hh:mm" will be 24H, because it's not followed by "A" or "a". I'll fix this adding an explicit settings to set HH24 or AMPM. ;) EDIT: looking at the ini it should work for the time: Code:
TimeFormat="hh:mm A" Code:
TimeFormat="AP" Code:
DateFormat="dddd dd-MMM-yyyy" |
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
@sakya....
may i suggest you saperate time & date as a standalone widget?? it will be much better if we have two different widget for date & time as default (not by editing/adding) by our self.... |

I made 3 widgets, - One for time: "hh:mm A", aligned to center and then cut the size down to where AM/ PM was not visdible. - Then another widget was created just to display AM/ PM. - A separate date widget to display date as "dddd, dd-mm-yyyy" |
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
This is how I would like QtLockscreen to work:
since most users (including me) use the N900 to phone and listen to music, I would love it to be able to do that through QtLockscreen. Access the phone and open my media collection, while N900 itself is locked with a password. So I don't have to fear when handing my N900 to someone and behind my back he messes up my N900. Is this possible????? |

Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
Seems to get nice! Some cool features would be:
-weather forecast -signal strength -bluetooth/wlan status -calendar/alarms sneak also QBW-support would be a killer-feature... |
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
Yes
Weather forecast isn't probably that hard to do, especially after we have it used through QBW or as stated in my signature, and i believe Sakya is working on the signals strength including wlan. BUT QBW isn't written in QML, is it? Therefore i suppose it'll be hard to create a QBW "widget" |
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
Can someone tell me where is located all icons of the qtlockscreen (media player buttons, battery, email, call etc...)? The full path ?
And another question, if that possable to change the "1 unread messages" to "1 unread SMS" or "1 new sms", I need something short... Thanks |
Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement
Hi
the icons are in a resource file, idem for the translation files sorry. If you want them download in the repos: http://www.assembla.com/code/qtlocks...s/trunk/images @Sakya, you could add in the config file, in the main, a path to qtLockscreen_xx_XX.qm ? It's so easy to create with qtLinguist (both linux and windows) |
