So where does amazon fit it then because they took a boat load of pre orders and I thought they were pretty large of a company not to get some shipment.

Re: N900 shipping delayed

I don't know who CaptainGinyu has been talking to, but out of the 5 times I've called Nokia USA(funny how they're all different people answering the phone) the past two days(including today) all I got was, people who can't speak proper English(probably can't even understand English properly) with a really weird(not thick) accent telling me "end of November". No matter what I say, they "literally" repeat "end of November" like that's the only English they can say.

I'm sorry to take down what little hope everyone has been relying on, but that's what happened to me and I don't anyone to make haste decision then later on regret it.

Like I said, they're calling me tomorrow afternoon to try and badger me into a sale. I'll make sure I get full verification and let you guys know again, but on the phone he sounded pretty certain they're being shipped "to customers" as I specifically asked him.

So even if you don't pre-order the device you still get it before people who pre-ordered at other sites?

Me thinks Nokia doesn't understand the point of fufilling pre-orders. Oy what a mess this is.

Thereby when Peter tells that the shipping has begun, he uses this phrase in the most useful way for HIMself. Which is the very first moment that shipping has begun, he will say it to the crowd.

Peter is not going to wait for the shipping of stores to customers to say that shipping has begun. And the store guy is not going to say to customers that the shipping has begun JUST IN KOREA but he is just going to say that the shipping has begun. And thereby letting the customer believe what he wants to believe.

You: hi davis
You: any word about the n900 shipping?
Davis: Hey, it has shipped yesterday.
Davis: So customers will receive it next week.
You: to distributor or to customer?
Davis: To customer.
You: how come i havent recieved any email or my credit card has not been charge?
Davis: I am not 100% sure about that, you will most likely be charged when you receive it is what I'm guessing.
Davis: I just know the first batch has been delivered.
You: i ordered since sept you think i will get it the 1st batch?
Davis: Yes I do.
Davis: I am sure you will get yours very soon.
You: ok thanks

Well, I didn't get the name of who I was on the phone with either, but I'm just saying what they told me. But, for all I know, he is very wrong. He just said they're already shipping to customers, and I'll ask again tomorrow to be sure. It does seem odd to me, something doesn't add up..
Didn't someone here say Dell is conservative?

I preordered from Nokia USA on September 24th with overnight shipping. My card has not been charged, the order status page says "in progress" as it has since Sep 24th. Davis has told me the preorders have shipped as well. But I do not believe it.

Davis sounds like some form of Artificial Intelligence. Always the same answers.

OMG, it just hit me, he sounds like a DROID!

Soo strange... I got call from a guy name Davis and he called to confirm my order. I asked him when they shipping first he said they have already shipped it.. i was shocked why did he called if it has already been shipped...

After 20 mins i get a call back from him and he said they gone ship at end of this month...

He speak really wired English. and repeats n900 every time he ends a sentence..

MNX1024 2009-11-12 05:08

Re: N900 shipping delayed

Look, if it's from Nokia USA, then yes, you'll definitely get someone that can't speak proper English.

Re: N900 shipping delayed

Calling 1 866 59 NOKIA is a call to an undisclosed asian country.

I was very happy when Dell learned their lesson and brought tech support home.

My biggest complaint with my E90 is that I get the same tech support and customer service for a phone I paid $800 for that I would get with a free phone.

I don’t get why there is so much activity here. This thread should be dead after the announcement of the shipment.

Product being shipped without being billed and without shipping details? What a load of crap. The N900 better be amazing to make up for this completely FUBAR release situation.

Shipping announcement is worthless until we start receiving shipment notification from the actual vendors.

THanks- yeah- jusy rebooted and now it's ok. Still Pending though:(

For me, shipping is still delayed until we see proof otherwise- no-one has had cards charged or emails yet- so thread is still valid as far as I can see.

The email I had from MDP yesterday said that my pending PAC will stay like that till they ship 16/17 Nov.

Oh- ok- that's a bit more promising. Is it me or is it really hard to get any info out of them at all- they just seem so like they really can't be ar$ed talking to me on Live Chat .

Re: N900 shipping delayed

I get that feeling too. But to be fair if they do have 500 pre orders which most of us appear to be on here.

I guess I'd get fed up of answering the same question 500 times a day.

We're like kids waiting for christmas day :)

yeah, I understand they might be a bit annoyed at having to answer the same questions again and again...but they are quite short with their answers and seem unwillingly to give anything more than a one word answer (hopefully, likely are the two they keep using with me). I mean, this is their job...they are supposed to be as helpful as possible.

Exactly- and if they are working so closely with Nokia- isn't it only good business that they're courteous and helpful? Bad training if you ask me. Why put someone like that on a live chat where they're bound to get asked the same boring questions?

Yeah, this is the first time I've dealt with them, and I'm hoping all other aspects of their business are a little bit more efficient than their customer service...god help us if they are not.

How can any of you expect delivery if they just started shipping from source on Monday? Routing time, customs time, retail receipt time, admin time. You are looking at TODAY being the earliest possible time for anyone to have it and ship out tonight. Next day delivery buyers or perhaps some flag ship stores in Europe may have them tomorrow and Saturday.

Some of you are funny with expectations, but at least keep the hope of the thread making 3,000! ;)

Nobody said they did, did they? Everyone in UK is expecting delivery next Monday/tuesday/Wednesday and is waiting to get confirmation that they're respective shops have it in so they have an idea of which it will be- surely? eh ?

The more important question is why did it take Nokia so long to start shipping from source. Most companies would have the product in warehouses by this point.

Hasn't this already been discussed multiple times? The product was waiting the release firmware that was delayed by 10 days.

Rushmore 2009-11-12 13:19

Re: N900 shipping delayed

There are posts in the thread asking if anyone received theirs yet. If nobody has the N900 by tomorrow or Saturday, THEN people should start wondering.

I can see why people get irrated and most of this would not have happened if Nokia would simply post status. Even if "no change", it would reduce speculation and frustration.

Status is now in the hands of the retailers, but it would be nice if Nokia told everyone what percent of pre-order allocations were filled with this week's deliveries. Most people should have their order by the end of the month. Unless Nokia is operating already in back-order status with their retailer customers.

Just called the shop i placed my preorder to ask when they are expecting the N900 to arrive, they told me this week, most possibly tommorow. They get stocks daily even on saturdays so i have high hopes i have it before the weekend :D
