The BME keeps crashing. Nitdroid boots ok and I can use it well but often after the phone goes into standby mode, the red led starts flashing continually and the battery is marked as 0% and it keeps saying to charge the phone. I also noticed that while using it the red led starts blinking and charge becomes 0% but after a few seconds the led stops and charge is ok. I guess BME would have crashed and restarted. But if BME crashes while on standby there is nothing to do except restart the phone. Is there any fix? I am using the latest version of nitdroid (2.3.4), the latest kernel (NIT07 rc4) and am using the original battery that came with the N900. I did find a patch but there was talk that the wifi might stop working and I thought the patch was included with this latest version. Any suggestions please?

hello,, im sorry im new to this,,, but in the tutorial it says, download the archive, when i click on the link, it gives me a lot of options, should i install everything in there or just the contents of the archive???

Yeah the wiki seems to be a bit vague on this point. The file that you need is actually "N12_Umay"

well i went through with it,, and i reached the Reboot part, it did, and the list showed only maemo as number 1,,,
does that mean i did something or was it all for nothing??!!!!

hey guys i just installed nitdroid and it worked fine, then i tried to deactivate the flightmode with the tutorial but after that my multiboot doestn want to start, it just stats maemo (the nokia sign appears and then its booting maemo) i reinstalled notdroid 2 times that doestn work..:/

i dont want to reflash my device maybe theres a special commad for xterm to reenable it? :x

Power up your phone with charger plugged in, I think it's battery bug.

@ammyt: Can you explain why do you set scaling governor to "Conservative" I think it make the phone responds slowly. Why don't we use "On Demand" scaling governor, 'cause I think it's the best scaling governor.

Hi, I'm having problems with my n900.. I think that battery monitor chip is damaged (if you want to know a little more of this click: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...82#post1047282 ) and I can't boot up Nitdroid successfully (red led blinks and then device shuts down).
To boot maemo fine, someone (Estel) modified getbootstate file. My quesion is if there's any way to do this whith Nitdroid's boot up file??

that isnt an archieve file ,if you knew it well .
i think i have stated wrong too .it should have been nitdroid archieves .like gingerbread.tar.bz2 ,update1,update2,superuser,latinMe,gps.nokia ,etc ..
i think now that i m quite precise about what i am looking for ,so i expect a correct answer .any one ?

You just need 2 files: N12_UMay.tar.bz2 and nitdroid-kernel-2.6.28-07_rc4_armel.deb.

guys, i have installed android gingerbread on emmc, android is running very smooth, but how soon can we get voice call on android, if it happens, I can truely say, my n900 can run two OS

You can say that already. Voice calls work fine in MeeGo.

But I too am eagerly awaiting the new release with voice and camera support.

By the way, is there any work being done on the GPS module?

ammyt and others, can you please help me? I cannot get the wifi to connect. From the wiki FAQ, it is asked to disable encryption. Itried that, but my wlan netword is not being picked up. Same for WEP encryption.

However, when I switch to WPA, my network SSID is shown, but it cannot connect/obtain IP address.

FYI, I am using connectify with windows 7 to create the wifi hotspot.

Please help, as without net, Nitdroid is pointless for me as I cannot access marketplace.

EDIT: got it working, thank god! I think it worked because I changed wifi Sleep setting to never and channels to 14. Anyway, Yippppeeeee!

I just want to thank all the folks who have worked to make NITDroid an option for the N900.... i'm chomping at the bit for 2.3.5 (already flashed back to Maemo for a clean install when it's out) and will be singing praises if this does come out with voice call support...

am having 3 choices in my multi boot.
1. maemo
2. nitdroid 2.6.28.NIT.07 on mmcblk0p2
3.nitdroid 2.6.28.NIT.06 on mmcblk1p1

how to remove the 3rd one.. bcz its the previous N11..

i used the following commands to install n12 while n11 was already installed in my mmc

oot
cd /home/user/MyDocs
bzip2 -d N12_UMay.tar.bz2
cd /
mount /home /and
cd /and
tar xvf /home/user/MyDocs/N12_UMay.tar
dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/nitdroid-kernel-2.6.28-07_rc4_armel.deb

Alright NITDroid team, well I don't really care about voice calls because I seldom do it, but I think you should make NITDroid up-to-date. The latest Android 2.3.5 is out and CyanogenMod is working on a mod AND we're seeing no action of NITDroid... You know, NITDroid made N900 one of the first devices to run Android 2.3.4... And also, I see the NITDroid N11 is based on CyanogenMod 7 and it's indeed running MUCH more stable and faster than the previous version based on stock 2.3.1. However, in NITDroid N12 you guys suddenly fell back to stock 2.3.4 and I found the port to be not as stable as N11 - it often resets... So CyanogenMod seems to be both the stability and the speedy choice. So what? RETURN TO CYANOGENMOD PLEASE!!

But, my android version after installation is 2.2.1 . How do I know that I am installing latest nitdroid? I am keen to try 2.3.X version on N900.

In original post, it is mentioned that "Nitdroid 12 released" but what I see is only NITDroid-0.0.9.tar.bz2 . so where can I get Nitdroid 12?
