I want a similar song metadata widget for the default media player! Does anyone know how to do it with QBW?

I did post the commands for " someplayer and default player" on here for use with QBW. I've used QBW for my mediaplayer buttons ( SomePlayer) and to show track info I used QuickWidgets .

I also used QBW to open "SomePlayer" which you can see at the bottom left of my screenshot, same goes for "Stop". The Play button is the "Toggle" command, so you can just pause the track.

Hope this helps

Kind Regards Qosmio

I'm a noob and I have no idea how to use Quick Widgets or QT, so could you give me a brief tutorial how to read default media player's track info and make a widget showing the info? :)

Here are my latest desktops. I've gone with a military aircraft theme since the RAF, French and US are all enforcing a no fly zone over Libya and it was just an excuse to make my Nokia N900 look mighty!

Very nice photos all! I would love the name of a couple of apps i've seen in this thread:

There is one app where in the statusmenu (or whatever the menu is called that comes down when pressing clock/battery in upper left corner) you get 4 icons, settings terminal + 2 or something. Would love those shortcuts.

Also, what's the name of the widget that shows current mhz and stats like that?

Not sure what you mean in your first question (perhaps someone else does) You have 2 choices when it comes to displaying things like cpu mhz. Queen Beecon Widget is the more powerful and advanced one, and Desktop Command Execution Widget which is easier to use but more simple. Both are in the repos and both have their own wiki pages on this forum for a list of commands.

You are right. The weather widget Qosmio is using is Queen Beecon Yahoo Weather widget. Here is the thread and code for it. Best to check the thread for the most recent code because it has changed a couple of times. The png's come directly from yahooweather.com

Update on my maemo twin. If you think, this should be moved elsewhere, please let me know. So far, I haven't found any better thread :)

http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/5802/35026510.png

Updates: top panel with original background and black plastic menu button, modded clearweather screenlet and added netmonitor. Still searching for better weather and dataplan monitor "clones", might do this with conky.

The uptime widget is DCEW.

Code:

uptime|cut -d" " -f4-|sed 's/\, *load.*//'

By some reason the uptime came automaticly to my desktop when i installed DCEW. Now i'm about to do the script for cpu freq:

awk '{print $1/1000" MHz"}' /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_cur_freq

What i don't understand is where to enter this code?!

This screenshot shows qbw, but dcew is the same principle. Add the widget to your desktop, touch the screen at the top right and press the settings cog. Click on the spanner for dcew and this screen will come up ( or similar) Title is whatever you want to call it - cpu- or whatever and in the command box, type the command - or copy and paste from the wiki and click save.
Note - There are already some commands pre-installed with the widget.

Add DCEW to desktop.
Click on spanner.
Go Add Cmd.
Title = CPU Freq.
Command = awk '{print $1/1000" - blah blah blah
Save.
Exit.

Like these.....?

EDIT - not happy with either the previous or next icons on the buttons themselves, was lazy in creating them and flattened layer styles before rotating therefore the drop shadow is reversed on the "previous.png" icon, and is offset left and up instead of down and right as with the other icons. Call me a tosser. Looks like gash. Working now to put it right and also correct the stroke weight. Won't look gash in a half hour or so.
