Nope. Definitely doing something wrong. When I open the assistant app in Windows it allows me to select a drive that corresponds to the SD card on the phone. I "install" the voices and maps that I want and then disconnect and go to the file browser in the phone. From there I can run the SetupMobileMaps.deb file and the application appears to install. But when I run the application it opens, thinks for a second and then disappears immediately. Any ideas anyone?

The quality of the GPS fix is a hardware issue & won't be improved!

If it takes a long time to get a fix without AGPS in Nokia Maps, it will take the same amount of time under Sygic.

I hope Sygic is intelligent about dealing with a poor quality GPS fix. For instance, hopefully it doesn't freak out and immediately start recalculating crazy routes when the position starts hopping around.

But it is working with exactly the same raw data that Nokia Maps receives.

earlier in this thread people reported segfault if they installed to an expansion card.
try using the built in 32GB

That means move the Drive, Res and Maps directories?

I would imagine so. I don't have it to confirm.
but if the application is expecting it in a certain place then I can understand why they may have let this bug through.

try it and see ;-)
