Have you also noticed that if you swipe from the bottom on the lockscreen you can get the quick links? Or is this a pr1.1 feature? I only noticed it recently.

Err, I did it once and it worked. Now I try a second time and I can't. Maybe I should just accept that I'm no swipe master. Can someone else try please? :o

Just swipe from bottom and stop and wait mid swipe (or in the middle of the swipe or at the end, it shouldn't matter) and the quick links should appear after 0.7 seconds or so.

PS can you unlock the phone as described btw, or are you still having problems there?

Ah yes - you're quite right. Just need to know the gesture instead of guessing, and it works as described.

Everything is now fine! :) I think it was a combo of:
  • Canadian winter effect on my hands (which I'm sure all Suomi will understand)
  • not being really careful to swipe right from the edge

It seemed like a bug, even down to it working sometimes right after I rebooted but not during normal use, but it wasn't. I realise that of the times it worked, I was holding it two-handed.

D'oh! Nothing to see here, move along :o

Thank you patiently waiting.

We have replicated your concern and we have verified that during this kind of situation, users cannot scroll up or down when editing on the editbox. We will forward this fact to the Research and Development team for future review for the following updates on our devices.

We appreciate that you took time to let us know about this matter.

I'm in the US and drive started for me, but I don't have a car so haven't seen it take me anywhere yet. :)

It could be an issue with the N9 accounts database (as described by Manatus on the email thread), see this post:
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=196

Would explain lot of the account/login problems, not sure if this has been confirmed though.
Myself haven't had any big problems, emails have worked fine (Gmail & MFE).
Some early problems with Ovi store apps not installing, but lately it has been working better (maybe they fixed something on the server side).
Generally very happy with the N9, also new apps seem to pop up nicely.

A silly question - how to disable sshd from starting up automatically?

Also, is it possible/wise to reformat /home/user/MyDocs as ext4?

Re: N9 owners: answer questions & get help!

Hey guys,

Have been reading this forum for the past few days and decided to join. I haven't had any of the issues documented here, relating to purple lines on the screen, any freezing etc

The only issue I very occasionally seem to have is that when i'm on the unlock screen, i sometimes can't swipe. I need to hit the lock button again on the side of the phone, and then unlock it, and then the swipe is fine. Anyone else have this issue?

Drive works, but I don't have any voices. I used it to find my g/f today. I'll try it again on the way home.
