I will repost this as this seems to be the most accurate statement that I have seen from MPD. This was a mail I got from them after much chasing, and yes, they do not have the phones yet..

Hi

We have 500 or so pre orders and will be receiving around 1000 units from Nokia. The orders will be dispatched as soon as we get them; we can’t say the exact date due to the physical logistics of dispatching more than 500 pre orders, however we aim to complete the orders with 1-2 days.

They will ship them Monday/Tuesday. You should receive the phone Wednesday/Thursday.

Yes - having a go at MPD is fun :D

For all the others ordering from MPD, your phones will be going out Mon/tue for delivery on Tue/wed as they have stated that they may not be able to clear all orders in a day :mad:

To all the frustrated souls eagerly awaiting your n900 i should warn of the possibility of something even worse than the delay suffered so far. Not all n900s that have left the factory and are wending there way to us by whatever route will actually work as intended there are always a few that sneak through QC, as proved by my own n95 8g that had a volume control that did not work . How much more frustrated will we feel trying to get a replacement when there are just not enough of them to fill the preorders.i just hope that i get a good one and sooner rather than later.

But Nokia Norway said week 48, so I guess that is right.

I ordered from elkjop.no. On the productpage it says 28.11.09, but on my order status it still says 15.11.09 :confused:

I just spoken with Nokia (UK) ... The adviser I spoke with sounded very very depressed (Like he's been telling people the release date for the N900 all morning) He they advised me that it will be some time next week that I'd receive my N900 he didn't give a specific date :(

Yeah, that thought is lingering in the back of my head. I'm hoping that Nokia is paying closer attention to the n900 given the problems they've had already (delays, and now problems getting enough manufactured to meet preorders). Further QC problems (even though it's impossible to get 100% without alot of time and money) would be further bad news for any technology blogs out there.

Yep, routing time, customs, pick-up, routing time, etc- I understand. Still, given that Nokia expedited delivery- seems odd. Unless Nokia did NOT expedite to save a couple $

it does seem that they must have given orders not to release early, even if the distributors have them in stock.

I think all those who pre ordered there phones through Nokia will recive a shipping email on Monday 16th.

If there is no official release date, there is no way to define early.

Nokia has not given a date for release to the public.

Meh - MPD is attached to the hip of nokia, so i'd expect the same.... As theyve forwarded sales to nokia retail now, i wouldn't be suprised if it all came from the same stock?

Elkjop Norway changed delivery date to 28. november. Elkjop phone support confirmed this date as the new date for first deliveries..

They charged my card 13. october , so this just keeps on getting better. I'll be glad to have it before christmas :mad:

it's funny that peter was very proud to announce the shipping date.
we, as costumer, do not care about this date.
we need the RELEASE date

It is a shame and a mockery on customer to announce souch a date as release because nobody has the chance to get a phone in any shop until....???

I'm just patiently waiting for week 49....

And personally, not to put a damper on you all. Considering the release to shipping announcement. Week 49 seems more plausible after the announcement on Tuesday.

We have to be a bit patient. Me too I want my N900 imagine they don't sell in Canada got to buy in US but they don't ship to Canada I got to find someone to buy it in US for me and than ship it.
But I think, I am sure that we are going to be rewarded for our waiting courage. We going to have one of the most powerfull little pocket computer.

Come on, this thread needs some common sense. The packages are shipping from Korea to all over the world. How could he possibly know when exactly are they going to reach distibutor X in country Y? And then he would have to know how long it takes for the distributor to package the preorders and send them. Then he would have to know how long it takes for that package to reach you. Calm down, you'll get your device.

They have delayed it ONE time, not several! They have told WHY it was delayed, and they have told it's now SHIPPING from the factory! What more do you want? No, Peter doesn't know what the exact date and time is when you get yours.
