Re: [Debian] ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!
I think it is possible. You need to insmod the prism2 driver in Maemo before starting Easy Debian, but it should work from there.

Re: [Debian] ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!
hi qole,
i just installed kchmviewer in easy debian. i need to use debian chroot to run it. is there any way that i can run it without opening chroot. i tried using personal menu using command debbie kchmviewer (like other packages) and got a pop up window with error message. DCOP communications error (kchmviewer) Thwere was an error setting up inter-process communications for KDE. The message... Could not read network connection list. /home/user/.DCOPserver_Nokia-N800-__0 Please check that the "dcopserver" program is running! OK then after i pressed OK kchmviewer will be loaded and a pop up window this error message will appear Sorry - kchmview... Could not find mime type application/octet-stream OK Then after pressed OK another error message appear but this time in the content area An error opccured while loading ms-its:/media/mmc1/Documents/chm/OXHCM.CHM::/8 - Renal MEdicine.htm: Could not start process Unable to create io-slave: Permission denied. BUT... I received no error message if i run kchmviewer through debian chroot. |
Re: [Debian] ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!
asyik: It looks like you've run kchmviewer as root (from the Debian Chroot window) and now some of the permissions have been set to root, and you can't run it as "user" anymore.
First, you need to open a terminal and type: Code:
sudo chown user:users /home/user/.DCOPserver* Then, reboot the tablet (to clear out the temp directory) and try to run "debbie kchmviewer" again. |
Re: [Debian] ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!
qole...
I entered this Quote:
Code:
chown: cannot access `/home/user/.DCOPserver*': No such file or directory Code:
ls /home/user -la Code:
total 912 so what is the next move (i do not know how to change the permission) i also have xchm and listed as root but i can run it as a user using debbie xchm via personal menu. This is what i got if i run debbie kchmviewer in x terminal Code:
BusyBox v1.6.1 (2008-09-18 09:43:17 EEST) Built-in shell (ash) |
Re: [Debian] ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!
asyik: Wow, you have a lot of root files in your home directory. The best thing to do is the following:
Code:
sudo chown user:users -R /home/user Here are the files in your home directory owned by root: Quote:
