FOR ALL THOSE WHO DONT YET HAVE YOUR DEVICE
I just thought it would be worth pointing out to you that I paid on credit for £33 of my N900 plus postage to swap to T Mobile (PAC was irrelavent to MPD as I can port it now i have the phone) and I ordered WELL before the 30 days.
BUT
I didn't get a phone call at all to reconfirm and i didn't get a status change from 'ready to despatch' and I didn't get an email either.
So basically, don't think that because your status is stuck on ready that it hasn't already been sent, and don't think that it won't be sent until you've had a call.
AND apart from one or two niggly things , it's awsome- and well worth the wait.:cool:

I wouldn't unless you know it'll be then, as it might be the next day and then you'd have to take two days off :-)
After all, if it comes and you are out, you can just take the card to the post office the next day instead.

Wooooooooo hoooo just got a text from my neighbor she said she just got a parcel from royalmail lady on my name recorded and I'm not expecting anything else except my n900. But Thay don't normally give it to next door. Because Thay need sig?

If that happens, I don't think i'll be able to sleep that night. I'll just be thinking of how lonely my N900 is, sitting there in the dark and evil Royal Mail sorting offices. :D

I am "ready for despatch" since last thursday.. So far no phone, no despatch email, no money taken..

Seems to depend on the compay t-mobile do a £2 out then in check and vodafone use checking agencies i think. My credit record is abissmal, and yet i got through it :)

Wow ! Got through to MPD on about the 20th attempt today.
The poor lass was very good, and explained it's Vodafone holding things up (apparently) and things should progress tomorrow (fingers crossed !).
She also said they were very busy, but when I asked if there was a better contact method for them ('such as ringing the store direct') she said no, this number was best.

Oh well. At least it's something !

yep.. i got through to them right now aswell and they say they are too busy and no matter what I said, they wouldn't check the status or my order! I got to get someone that is not as nice to speak to them lol and yer, ordered are supposed to complete by the end of the week (BETA or else!!!)

do they actually talk to you specifically about your order or generally about the dispatch for n900's?

I ordered on 26 Nov, Voda 12mnths, £45 a month, £65 phone, and today status changed from "pending stock" to "ready for dispatch" I called them and they said that only people who ordered before 3November have call about card details check, so my unit should be dispatched today or tomorrow. But I don't belive them, Do somebody have any info about it ?

No he took my surname, and checked on the system.
It was supposed to be dispatched yesterday but i think that refund thingy made them wait. And do it today, i also got text today from voda so it seems mine will make it to me tomorrow.

Could someone help please has anyone else here who has there n900 noticed dead pixels on there screen.

I have noticed mine in the top left hand corner i only notice when im on google home page as its a white background and it is only the smallest little dot you can imagine but because i know its there it bugs me.

What would happen if i contacted nokia would it be replaced or fixed?

dont want fixed as its new and it wouldnt exactly be new when i got it back

I liked it at first, but like most things, I get bored easily.

Plus the battery life is shocking and the fact that it hasn't got an easily replaceable battery is annoying.

Can't wait to get my hands on the N900

eeeeeeeeeeeeeek nooo thats really really not good :( - it is a defect in the product so you are allowed to request a fix/replacement through the 7 days return process.......

(I think if it's in the first 7 days they should replace it) - don't take my word on that though.

yeah but MPD say they only accept returns when the seal is not broken
