Re: [Debian] ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!
Hey Qole first off thanks for the great app/OS I was trying to use the synaptic packager to remove a few things from within debian and I was asked for a root pass word ??? is there any way to get this info or maybe change it ?
Thanks again John |
Re: [Debian] ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!
In LXDE, run Synaptic from the command line with "sudo", or better yet, run Synaptic from the Maemo menu icon.

Re: [Debian] ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!
also I was wondering is there a website you could point me to so that I can try to insmod my airdash wifi card .... this is a tad more advanced than what I was thinking. but would really like to have a small wardriving device that is able to send packets... since my main transportation atm has only 2 wheels the smaller the better ..... and I dont see toting my MBP in a backpack just to get ruined by the rain O_o
N800 + zip lock baggy = rain proof !!!! |
Re: [Debian] ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!
sweet ..... the sudo synaptic command worked like a charm !!!!!

Re: [Debian] ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!
Some searching only found a post from a guy who said he'd have to compile a prism2 driver himself...
I think you're going to have to do like me, and track down an rt73-based usb wifi card. Then you can use the drivers from this thread. Another note about wifi sticks. I've found that my N800 can't power it alone, I needed to use a battery pack and a powered USB hub. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3136/...848fd1b9_m.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3038/...2ae73312_m.jpg |
Re: [Debian] ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!
how hard would it be to compile a driver for the airdash ??
being that its gonna run through debian I was thinking it would have been a little easier work around. |
Re: [Debian] ANNOUNCE: Easy Debian Turbo-Charged Edition!
I'm sure it's been mentioned before somewhere within this 18 septendecillion topic, but where can I search for free debian programs to install and run within OS?
Also, are there any programs that are actually worth paying for? Thanks! |
