Sounds like there is a old and corrupted navit.xml in your folder?

You can use the level attribute within the <debug> line to increase verbosity:

Afaik the bokomoko package is compiled with

# Disable garmin
DEB_CONFIGURE_EXTRA_FLAGS += --disable-garmin

so no garmin maps working, only osm maps.

Oh that's a pity because here in Brazil we have a wonderfull comunity that makes open maps for garmin devices that are way better than OSM maps, at least for my place. I was so exited about navit since i got the 0.2.0 version (from maemo repos) reading my gmapsupp.img map. Thats ok. It's time to try learning how to set up scratchbox and compile something to maemo. I've already started reading but it seems quite complex.

I'm not sure, but think we will skip the Garmin support with the following releases, as we have a lack of developer support there and most people just use OSM this way. But that needs further discussions:

I uploaded a new navit package to bokomoko.de. It is based on the latest svn revision 5633. Concluding from the svn log, many fixes went in, e.g. "Correctly use house number index if present", but few new features, most notable maybe "configurable penalty to turn around" (but I have not used that or even tried out how to configure that).

i saw you are using <graphics type="gtk_drawing_area"/> in navit.xml

so i changed from <graphics type="qt_qpainter"/> to gtk and it started.

can you try if it works for you with <graphics type="qt_qpainter"/> ?
