Well, I think Leste is more but unless there is better hardware I will probably be a Purist or become Note worthy. Then again, I might also succumb to the Pixel dust...

I am banking on the fact that just as all these disparate OS's share the same base from which they run from...
And hence can utilise the same devices as one another...
(To a greater or lesser extent)...
Then...as maemo leste is based similarly...
So too there should be the same devices that it should run on...

I do not fret that...
I don't see that as a concern at all...

Hell..worst case.
And most likely....
One of the other frontrunner OS's break through the wall first...
And in the doing one can utilise maemo apps...
And in the doing...eradicates half the issue...
Until the other half (a functional Leste) is up and running

interestingly...
maru team is working on upping to lineage 14.1 shortly...
making the android experience bearable (IMO)
and possibly 15.1 in the future...

hmm...
I think that the moment maru has 14.1...
I will take my primary nexus 5 and downgrade from lineage 15.1 to maru's 14.1 ...
make it my primary daily ...and enjoy using the desktop converge ...
then strip the thing...put either flux or windowmaker ..or something else ...maybe fvwm or icewm at worst...
gut the sucker and start clean and minimal as possible without compromising a good experience..
see how it performs then...

they have it running a open oreo 8.1
on a number of devices...
and they are doing convergence a different way...

they also offer the same OS for pc, laptop, tablet
so the same stuff on one's phone can be on one's other devices..
I imagine this method may make syncing is easier...

I will have to try it out...see what it is like...
it isn't quite what I was looking for...
at first glance...
but it is ....different...
so I'll check it out this coming month...

UBports has just released their ota 4 for 16.04 ...
which supposedly deals with some issues they have had...
and now the push is on for devels who made their apps for 15.04 ...to make them 16.04 viable..
Hopefully the bulk of their apps get done.

It's just a RC. There are still serious hammerhead bugs to fix. At this point I'm not willing to change 10 days drawer uptime with LIneageOs for 1,5 days drawer uptime with UT ;)

Yeah....
Shame really...UT has a nice interface ...
But I found it pretty minimal in depth and breadth of content.

Lineage is not bad...
But am abandoning it in favor of Bliss..and Maru..both of which I like ...so far...

If one needs a replacement non corp os...
In a pinch it isn't bad...
It is functional.
Their team is muscling ahead....it is now rougly inline with 16.04 ...
But it is the all the app creators and maintainers that have to shove their 15.04 apps up to 16.04 ...
That is something else...and that will take however ...(if ever ...for some)...it takes...

Between now and that unknown...
I am not waiting...
I am enjoying Bliss on pc and nexus 5 (oreo 8.1)...and am getting used to Maru...(oreo 8.0)....
I just wish I could change the de and wm in it...but at the moment ....that isn't really doable...perhaps in the soon to be released 8.1 it may...
