A Quick Look at maemo Bugzilla

This week, the products covered by the Bug Jar were reclassified and divided in Bugzilla into "Maemo Software" and "maemo.org Website". This edition of the Bug Jar has dealt with the split by ignoring it; I've lumped all products in the two classifications back together and carried on as usual. However, I'm still weighing alternate ways of handling the split, and I welcome input.

For classifications, as Quim has recommended a couple of times, I think it'll be worthwhile to separate out the Maemo Software bugs from the Website bugs, as the Website bugs tend to skew the Maemo Software bugs in an incorrectly positive direction (maemo.org guys are much more responsive and helpful than the Maemo Software guys. . . .).

Feature request: any chance we could get a breakdown of any changes in the top-ten lists? Forget about it if it's labor intensive.

I must have missed those recommendations somehow. No matter, that's the direction I was leaning in any case. I just wanted to try for some feedback in case my sense on how to better serve the community was way off.

Are you asking for me to stop being lazy about including the information on whether an item has moved up or down in position during a given week? Or are you asking for something else?

A Quick Look at maemo Bugzilla

Starting with this edition, the Bug Jar tracks only items in Maemo Software. Dropping the maemo.org Website items has caused some numbers in the first section to decrease sharply and some of the top tens to change significantly.

The ordering of sections within the Bug Jar has also changed this week. The sections are sorted based upon the size audience they may interest, with general interest information appearing at the top of the Bug Jar and highly focused information at the bottom.
