The same products Nokia N97 and 5800XM are not available in Canada the same like US. And the same like in USA, in Canada all the people have iPhones and some Blackberries. Nokia is rare. The ipHone is the mobile phone. USA mobile market started far more late than Europe and Asia and other parts of the world using mobile phones, so 70% of the iPhones are the first phone ever for those persons. I am wondering if Nokia strategy was not BAD because they could have launched N97 from Jan-Feb this year but they waited for ovi store (by the way, right now, in the last 2 hours store.ovi.com server is down) and they waited for Qt and other small things integration in s60. Instead, they could have launched the N97 with the OS used in 5800 XM 4-5 months ago and at that time there was a lot of potential. Now, with the release of iPhone 3G S and Palm Pre and Samsung Omnia HD, the dices are thrown. The interest for N97 is lost. Too late, and even the specifications of the RAM and Processor of N97 are much weaker than iPhone 3GS and PalmPre and OmniaHD. Too late, Nokia. |

I am sad for Nokia. I was looking for a N97, but besides keyboard and flash for the camera, the iPhone has better power and RAM and many more applications. Now I'm looking at N900. The only thing is the 2 years gap between this and the last Maemo product N810 and the fact that the apps are incompatible because of different processor. At least if the interface will be nice, easy and user friendly. :) Why they change the processor from Samsung ARM 11 to TexasInstruments OMAP3? Samsung does not have any new processor at the same speed? |
