Thank you sir. That worked like a charm.

I switched from BB 8900. I cancelled BES unlimited data plan from T-Mobile - changed to the 9.99 plan and it works awesome. BTW The Chat Rep offered me first month free!! I am getting corporate emails via Mail for Exchange. It does say 3G right next to battery icon on top.

That's pretty impressive.

I get about 1.25 down and .26 up w/ my 5800 on AT&T's 3G near Los Angeles.

Can't wait to get my N900!

MY N900 works with Tzones. Do you see any advantage of getting the $25 smarphone plan and giving TMO my IMEI number?

No. Worst case scenario is that if the internet stopped working, we would then have to move you to the 25 dollar plan to ensure that it did work, keep the 9.99 feature on there with no guarantee of refunding you the amount if it continues to not work (since you weren't supposed to be on that plan in the first place) or take of the feature completely.

In other words, if it is working for you, keep it.

Actually, the only other thing I could see it hindering is equipment troubleshooting. While it isn't a T-Mobile phone, there may eventually be stuff in the knowledge base about the N900 (Again, there is for the Iphone), but if you are confident that you won't have any device-related issues, keep on keeping on, man.

Interesting about the speed differences. Perhaps its a per-device case. As for limits, there are, but only after 10GB of data have been transfered (with most plans IIRC), at which point the connection is throttled.

I'm also using T-zones with my N900. It will only work with epc.tmobile.com.

Can someone help me figure out how to switch from 3g to edge? I don't always wanna use 3g unless I'm going on media sites.

Re: US Tmobile APN

Read through this entire thread and am still stuck. Have tried all of the available APN's with NO luck. After I save my settings, the GPRS data icon at the top of the menu appears for a split second, disappears and I immediately get the "internet connection failed" error.

I have the $9.99 data plan--it was working fine on my 5800nav (which is EDGE only) but when I switched the SIM to my N900 I could not get data through t-mobile data. I have even tried fiddling around with my phones on t-mobile.com to see if that would help reset but nothing. Any ideas?

UPDATE: when I moved my SIM back into the 5800nav, I can no longer connect to T-mobile internet through data on that phone either. Does this lead you to believe I have a bad SIM or that somehow TMO has locked me out of using data on the cheaper plans?
