Guys, I'm sorry that there is no progress on the project. I don't know about @SR, but I've been busy lately. I'll probably look at the current issues this weekend. Stay tuned.

Or here:
http://stardict.sourceforge.net/Dictionaries.php

Make a directory and put the .bz2 files you download into /home/user/MyDocs/dict. Then you need to untar them.

Example:
Code:

mkdir /home/user/MyDocs/dict

wget
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/xdxf/stardict-comn_sdict05_eng-spa-2.4.2.tar.bz2

bzcat stardict-comn_sdict05_eng-spa-2.4.2.tar.bz2 | tar xv

Then in the qdictstar settings, select the "dict" directory and qstardict will use them. It searches subdirectories automatically.

Good luck. Would be nice if this could be done within the program as this is going to be a stumbling block for many users. Or even better, make .debs of various dictionaries and users can just install them to /opt/qstardict/dicts or somesuch.

just downloaded qstardict-0.13.1.tar.bz2 to MyDocs and tried to untar with

bzcat qstardict-0.13.1.tar.bz2 | tar xv

but it just says bzcat not found. Any ideas?

I uncompressed .bz2 dicts files on my pc (I use ubuntu) after I copied its in ../dic/ directory on my N900 ;)
otherwise follow this:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=268524
just that: after add diablo repository, install zip3 (that "support bz2 compression" as wrote in details) and not bz2 utility because that last isn't present in diablo repos.(as you can see)
I hope usefull for you, otherwise ask me.
;)

You need to install the bzip2 package. I'm surprised it's not there by default.

choose the dict you want here: http://xdxf.revdanica.com/down2/inde...ormat=StarDict
uncompress and copy it in /home/user/.qstardict/dict
after did it launch qstardict, tap on the top of the screen and select it in menu/configure -> dictionaries
(check .qstardict with "s" because in your post you forgot it! do you forgot also in your n900?)
