There is a picture of my stylus, bottom of the page.. .. and some info of it. http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...ypaint&page=36 EDIT: I hate those stylus sticks.. I like real pen with good ergonomic, it is very important to me. |
Re: Look what I drew on my phone
Thanks Tone!
It's great to see what talented people (like you) prefer to use. My only confusion is - how does your stylus feel to use? The reason I ask is because I find 'fixed' stylus to be difficult because it has a friction drag on the screen. I would like a 0.5 rollerball (with no ink, obviously) so it would glide effortlessly over the screen. I have a Pilot G2 that is nearly empty...I wonder if it will make a good rolling stylus? What do you think, Tone? |

These are personal things... I like myself that there is a friction when I draw on the surface. I have quite a lot friction also, because I have ZAGG invisibleShield screen protector which are little sticky.. I like it very much. But I know that someone prefer liquid slippery feeling when they draw =] Btw. My first option was that Pilot G-2 but I did not liked its ergonomic. And other thing was that Wacom Nibs did not fitted well to this pen because tip hole is larger than Nib's diameter. |
Re: Look what I drew on my phone
Hey guys, Have you used the Vikuiti DQC-160 screen protector? It has a slight texture to it and I used to notice it when I first started using it but don't notice it anymore. Has anyone drawn with it and changed to a smooth screen protector and noticed a difference?

Re: Look what I drew on my phone
I also have a Zagg screen protector, and like the way it feels. I am looking for a stylus that gives me a little less friction (more fluid movement) but doesn't feel slippery/uncontrollable.
I did some searching, and it seems nobody makes a rollerball stylus, and the advice is against using an empty pen. Back to square one :) Tone, how does your stylus feel compared to the standard N900 stylus? |

To me there is no other differences than "weight" and "ergonomic". I can not draw with standard stylus long period of time. There could be a lot differences when using standard stylus or style pen. MyPaint Brushes reacts differently.. Sometimes I could use N900 standard stylus.. with my Sketcher.. pencils like "Sketcher 1".. Trick is to FLIP stylus and use other bulkier tip for drawing ... you can do shading with it easier ... because more styluses surface area touch to the screen... -> Strokes are different :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- harp - I have not used Vikuiti screen protector but at first my N900 screen was covered with some cheap slippery plastic one.. I did like it a bit .. but only when I using very sharp pinpoint pencils. Surface was hard so pen glides easily but I do prefer now this one. It is much easier to draw eg. on the moving bus. :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: There is now in Youtube ... mine second video about MyPaint.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4z1svphlJM Btw. I try to do proper brush set for MyPaint.. now Mine "Tone" set is bit confusing... brush names are not correct and there is some misspellings .. like "Tones's" ... I have also done some more brushes.. like the old ... Liner Brush.. which is my opinion very useful.. it works faster than "shift" lines. |

Let me join! :)
First test working with layers, don't mind the anatomy [I completely forgot how to draw shoulders!] or the exaggerated proportions... http://media.share.ovi.com/m1/s/2051...5ea2409289.jpg |
Re: Look what I drew on my phone
Any ideas when mypaint will make it into testing?

Re: Look what I drew on my phone
Hey Dak, I had the zagg on and found it fine, however I've switch over to Phantom skins which has a smooth feel than the zagg, but still feels better than drawing on the naked screen. I felt that the only way I could really enjoy this device was with a screen cover, this way I could draw with my finger nail, pen cap or anything else I wanted to all with out worry.

Hey harp, I'm enjoying your drawings as well. Like Tone mention, sometime polish is a bad thing. You can mess up some nice stroke or ruin the liveliness of a drawing trying to rework it too many time. I'm trying to draw more while in transit and on lunch break, but sometime I get stuck trying to get a certain look or finished feel and end up taking longer making some draws. Hey keep pumping them out, there fun! Quote:
slaxe, I'm really enjoying your drawings very cool. Krosis, nice! I liking the glow you got going there. |
