after changing the /usr/share/locale/en_US/LC_MESSAGES/osso-system-lock.mo file( for change "swipe to unlock" text) nothing changed in my phone!!!!!

can anyone of you send me a file osso-system-lock.mo with changed text????

if you have time plz read how did i Change it.......

i installed poedit and copy the file to my pc(osso-system-lock.mo)( i am using xp 32 bit) then open command prompt and cd to bin folder( where msgfmt.exe and msgfmt.exe is

located) and typed the following

msgfmt osso-system-lock.mo > osso-system-lock.po

and then open(newly osso-system-lock.po) it with poedit and changed the text and save it and then again open command prompt and cd to same folder ( where msgfmt.exe and

msgfmt.exe is located) and typed.......

msgfmt osso-system-lock.po -o osso-system-lock.mo

and deleted the original osso-system-lock.mo from n900 and transferred new osso-system-lock.mo file to same folder

( i have checked my change text file osso-system-lock.mo doing the same method and opening it in pc the text is successfully changed) but nothing happend on my N900

how??????
i also tried jstokes method but the result is same. can anyone of you send me a file osso-system-lock.mo with changed text????

yes i am using us-english

as i saw ur file there was no text (where "swipe to unlock should" be)in it " " so according to ur file there should be no text on my n900 when i replace my file.

but the was still "swipe to unlock" text there why i deleted the orignal file from /usr/share/locale/en_US/LC_MESSAGES(osso-system-lock.mo)

and placed ur file correctly

WHY THIS HAPPENS WITH ME ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????

hmm.. are you sure your using us-english,, because it the same file I used..maybe when one of the smarter folks pass-by the can give you a hand..

Little OT, but is there anyway to add "swipe to unlock" from opening the keyboard (accidentally in the pocket) when device has been locked?

I have it often, that keyboard is slid open when N900 is in my pocket and then Desktop goes messed up or programs starting and random events happening when the touchscreen is active and it getting touches randomly inside the pocket.

And you are basing that on what?

Try to understand. This isnt an app - its a simple little script that drags data from a website and uses imagemagick to manipulate it to show on the main screen.

I don't have the cycles to produce something that matches the data it gets against an icon set etc.

Uh, I understand how it works. Don't try to patronize me.

You can PULL the information from the same methods that OMWeather uses to display on the widget. Query it and use the same icons and then create your lockslider image. This way you don't have to tax the connection with grabbing images, you don't have to change API or crude-methods of grabbing the data from websites and you don't have to time updates - camp on an OMWeather trigger and update the images.


You assume there aren't people who are smarter than you who have already done this. Stop it.
