Dell is a huge e-tailor they issued a coupon and those coupon worked we didn't cheat the system or did anything shady.

Once the pre orders exceeded what Dell had ordered they immediately ended the offer.

Dell is obligated to serve us in a timely fashion it was never stipulated in the deal that we would be served last if we took the offer.

I had ordered my desktop from dell a few years back through an awesomely cheap deal I found on slickdeals, dell honored the deal and I received my computer very quickly. This is just my 2 cents I could be completely wrong lol.

im guessing the desktop wasnt one of the most hyped device of the year and it didnt get delayed for weeks and weeks and dell probly didnt give any false promises towards the status of your desktop.

plus puttyranger is getting screwed so you cant really say that they will completely honor the deal now can you.

Yes there a few that dell did give the shaft to I am fully aware of that, for the rest of us however we are still in queue. As far as I can tell the deal is still being honored.

My point is that if the deal is being honored still, imo it will be processed accordingly there is no reason why we would get bumped to the bottom of the line just because we used the coupon opposed to others that didn't used the coupon.

My example is just to note that dell is pretty good at getting things to you if it is available and in stock from my previous experiences.

I am fully aware that the n900 is not in stock yet my point is that when it is in stock I think dell will ship it out accordingly..in a timely manner.

I did point out that I could be wrong its just an opinion..so really..relax.

Mine is still in the system myself... I just hate that we must wait till the 10th to get it. I jumped on as soon as I saw the price. With a confirmation call a day later. Nokia flagships should be selling them this or next week. But sabing over 160 dollars is sweet! Factor in NYC tax hmmm sweeter lol...

N900 is back on Dell's website as preorder

Anybody can call right now ask them about the shipping date or them receiving the phone since Nokia already started selling it??
And Dell has the same Mail in Rebate form from nokia dropping the price to 559 now.

Re: Dell has the N900 for as low as $442

Keep the faith, but say 1,000 got the deal, that would be $158,000 less revenue and a loss compared to filling $600 orders.

Dell does not manage as an aggregate, each area is a profit center, including Small Business phones. They would be seperate from computers, printers, etc.

This error is not a small one from that perspective. ;)

Keep faith alive! :)

BTW, their marketing manages these deals. Do you think the manager over this will eat this loss if he or she can avoid it?

Think about it. Heck, now I worried myself :(

Well, you donīt really have a "case" as such. Theyīll quote you some reason e.g. denied credit card or something or put you on endless hold and pass you around.

I canīt tell you how much time I spent to make AT&T drop demanding a $500 deposit on my account when I added line number 3. (Short credit history in the US due to having lived here less than two years, but being their on-time paying customer all that time) After telling them I was not interested in acting as a lender to them at 0% interest and being passed to a supervisors supervisor, threatening to leave with my $150 monthly bill they finally said ok. But it was almost not worth the time. The only way some of them might understand customer service is by just saying AMF to them and going to a competitor. (Adios Mother F**ker)

Sometimes you have to ask yourself if the view is worth the climb.

did you consider preordering with amazon? they also have it for $560 (before $50 rebate) and no tax in most states. i got scared with the dell deal not going through and put in a preorder with amazon on 11-16.

Did anyone else get emails indicating any delays? (mine still says Dec 10th)

Re: Dell has the N900 for as low as $442

Nokia N900 @ $599.99 - Currently

Bought a $200 Dell Giftcard on eBay for $140. = $60.00 Off
Bought a 15% off Coupon for $2.00 = 90.00 Off
Nokia Mail in Rebate $50. = $50.00 Off :)

Total crafty savings of $200.00

So, if they adjust the price before shipping, I can save even more.

I actually bought another previously @ 399.99 with a 20% off coupon. I hope to take advantage of the $50.00 Rebate bringing that one down to a little less than $350!

Good Luck!

Nokia is only eating $50, so this means Dell will eat the other $70. Read the discount details and it makes no sense. Probably should
have been:

Original price $599.99
Discount $20 to $579.00
Rebait $50 to $529.99

Total savings $70. As it reads, total savings is $120- wow

The current price seems to be another Dell web goof.

Get em' while it's there! :)

Get em' while it's there! :)

The details don't say anything about the discount being $20 that I saw. It looks like they are offering the phone for $529... after that Nokia eats $50. I did find it interesting that the phone is listed in the small & medium business section, and the coupon says it's for "Dell Home Users".

Hopefully, Dell starts actually shipping soon, so we can enjoy our good deals.

Good point. Has there ever been a product that gets discounted like this- before launch? Seems odd.

If this price is not an error, watch even more people bail from Amazon and now Newegg. The longer the N900 takes to be available, the more people will think they have nothing to lose anyways and go to the cheapest, rather than the earliest.

Wow, that is a remarkable deal! If I wasn't already ordering from Dell I think I would switch. ;)

Dell does not offer an extended warranty. I asked. You are stuck with the 1 year warranty from Nokia. However, you can purchase a 3 year warranty from squaretrade.com. I just purchased my warranty using a coupon I found here:

http://blog.squaretrade.com/

The coupon code is: PRETHANK

The coupon info says:

Quote:

Hurry - 30% off is only valid til 11:59pm PST Nov. 17th, 2009! After that, coupon code is good for 20% off through 11:59pm PDT Nov. 22nd, 2009.
You can buy a basic warranty that covers manufacturer's defects or hardware failure due to normal use, or a more comprehensive one that includes accidental damage. Since I am usually very careful with my things I went for the basic one. It came to about $52 total.

How did you get it for a "phone" higher than $400? I could not find a link.

It's the phenomenon of pre-order pricing. The drops aren't permanent as prices will go back up and discounts will start from there.
