Re: Maemo Mapper Repositories

OutdoorActive maps for Austria, Germany and South Tyrol work as well. They are quite detailed and include lots of hiking and biking trails.

OutdoorActive.com (Germany only)

OutdoorActive.com (Austria only)
http://t0.outdooractive.com/austria/map/%0d/%d/%d.png

OutdoorActive.com (South Tyrol only)
http://t0.outdooractive.com/suedtirol/map/%0d/%d/%d.png

Thanks to http://gc-livepedia.de/wiki/Map_servers for pointing these out.

For me this works but with a 58 instead of 49.

By the way, I found that by right clicking in google maps using Opera browser and checking "Image properties".

I was gonna post that it went to 68, but just noticed that it's now 69. I find the urls by looking at my privoxy log, at least at home where going though the proxy is the only way things on my LAN can get to the outside.

What actually changes when the version changes? Am I supposed to throw the old database away and start a new one?

I wonder because when 49 stopped working I created a new database for 68. With some rusty SQL-fu I merged the new 68 tiles into the 49 database. Almost immediately I happened across a mis-matched tile where the images were of the same place but slightly different and the seam didn't line up.

Re: Maemo Mapper Repositories

Any chance the noaa maps at http://marine.geogarage.com/routes
could be used as a maemo mapper repository?

Thanks!

Re: Maemo Mapper Repositories

Anybody have any insight on this?

The map tiles use a format that looks like:
publish0.geogarage.com/noaa/tqtrtt/tqtrttq.png

Different areas/zooms change around the last 3 letters of the png file, but always seems to be the letters 'r' 't' 's' or 'q'. Also, I've seen publish1, publish2, and publish3.

The linz maps follow a similar format, linz/tsrrq.

I've been able to find noaa maps elsewhere, but this is one of the few sources of linz (New Zealand's version of NOAA) that may be compatible with Maemo Mapper.

Re: Maemo Mapper Repositories

Yeah, yeah, yeah... I know it's an "old" thread, but for anyone looking to use google maps (street only) here's the URL I just used:
http://mt.google.com/vt/lyrs=m@145&x=%d&y=%d&zoom=%d

Thanks due to speedmartini for providing a workable base upon which to build.

BTW, does anyone know what the "m@=xxx" chunk is doing? I think it has something to do with layers.

Hey, I'd love to get something like the old terraserver-USA (USGS maps) working again. I use my N810 for hiking trips in the mountains quite a bit.

Re: Maemo Mapper Repositories

I just used Firefox+Firebug to find the image URL of google street map. (open map.google.com, open firebug, click "inspect element", the click a map tile on screen).

The url near grand canyon, AZ is this:
http://mt1.google.com/vt/lyrs=m@146&...&z=7&s=Galileo

However the next tile of Las vegas, NV is:
http://mt0.google.com/vt/lyrs=m@146&...=50&z=7&s=Gali

Note the difference in mt0/1 and "s=" param. The URL of every tiles seem to be very dynamic now. Also if I change the z value to anything other than 7, it shows a blank image.

I tried many patterns in repository URL but none of them worked. Some resulted in "failed to download x maps". Some resulted in blank blue tiles. Does anyone have a working Google URL since 2011?

The ones I'm using are these:

Google Street:
http://mt0.google.com/vt/lyrs=m@146&x=%d&y=%d&zoom=%d

Google Satellite:
http://khm1.google.com/kh/v=80&x=%d&y=%d&zoom=%d

Google Street (layer):
http://mt0.google.com/vt/lyrs=h@146&x=%d&y=%d&zoom=%d

Re: Maemo Mapper Repositories

In Australia there is a great new map repository for aerial maps.
www.nearmap.com

The map tiles have this format
http://web2.nearmap.com/maps/hl=en&x...04wEoqtBccC2NF
but it doesnt need the whole string, it will still work with
http://web2.nearmap.com/maps/hl=en&x...713&z=18&nml=V

I have tried to add it in Tiles in Mappero with this URL
http://web2.nearmap.com/maps/hl=en&x...d&nml=Vert&s=a

but no luck

will Mappero work with &nml=Vert&s=a at the end of the URL
also, is it correct to have hl=en in the URL

Thanks man, this helped me figure out how to do what I wanted to do: get the google terrain maps.

To get the google terrain maps on maemo mapper create a repository for the following:

http://mt0.google.com/vt/lyrs=t@146&x=%d&y=%d&zoom=%d

then, if you want the streets overlaid on top of that add the google street layer as a layer to your repository.

Re: Maemo Mapper Repositories

Glad it helped.

Actually, I got a tip from the mappero people
all I needed was
http://web2.nearmap.com/maps/hl=en&z...&y=%d&nml=Vert

for nearmap
