Well driver is listed as working however a test on my N900 gives me black graphics. I can see the pedal etc but everything else is black. Not sure if this is an issue with the game, my N900 or the wiki being wrong.

Bummer.

i tried to make directories for asphalt5 but then also is shows me semgment fault. wht should be the prob. can anyone help me out.

for op to update post 1 . battleships works :) com.ea.app.battleship.pre.en to home/user and i used the info from this post

to chmod and get icon , just adjusted file names to match relevant game and so far worked on all games i have used it on...

It happened to me too with driver. Installed libgles 1 and 2. I could only see the controls. The rest of the screen is black. Deer hunter 3d doesn't work. I want driver to work though.

guys

the instructions and video tutorials are just brilliant... however IMO there is a couple of things not being taken into account, while for some of us we can figure out what your instruction did, for others this is not always the case.

- can someone please post a complete generic list of dependencies needed by any of these type of SDL games, or at least a list of the ones you have identified so far, this would hopefully help fix any errors other people maybe experiencing/seeing
e.g. to fix the following error: PDL: Failed to initialize libosso
what dependencies would be missing?
e.g. end user would just update dependency as follow:
apt-get install xxxxxxxxxxx
where xxxxxxxxxx is the dependency name
I think such a list should also be added to the wiki: http://wiki.maemo.org/Preenv


- please make it more clear when giving intructions if some folders are being created because they may be hard coded into the game(e.g. default location needed/used by game when trying to save something to particular file.e.g. settings) or because in your example the specific folder may have been the location of where your particular game resides(maybe specify at the beginning of tutorial that you assume the game will be locate /path/to/game/folder/ then your instructions will be more clear for those who may have the game in a diferent location.

it works very very good with me
it runs perfect and it's converted to .deb file so it's so esay to install it

I'm getting the same graphical glitches, what version of Driver are you running? Mines probably 8 months old from when I had my Pre...

How did you get it to run and where did you get the driver in deb format? I really want to play the game.

I wish the n900 was multi touch. They could've made it multi touch but they had to hold back. It would've been great.

God no. Multitouch then meant capacitive. That would be disastrous.

No. It can be resistive. I saw a tablet that was multitouch and it had a resistive screen. I dont know how they were able to do it though.

The technology has been there for a couple years.

As to why the N900 doesn't use it? Manufacturing cost. If the "average consumers" all can afford a $900 phone then probably Nokia would have put multitouch resistive on the N900 :D.

Yeah. I wish we had that on the n900. But noooo. Nokia had to make more money by holding back. I thought they were better than that. Apple's worse. They probably had the iphone 4 running 3 years ago.

same here, i ended up deleting both Nova and Assassins creed because of that, otherwise great graphics on both the games.

I didn't read the whole thread, so I don't know if someone already mentioned it, but I think that we could add a "runs from MyDocs" flag on each game in the first thread. This just saves space on /home/user/ and we can run a few games from MyDocs by creating symlinks as posted here: Transfer games to MyDocs folder

Tested and running from MyDocs;

- Asphalt 5
- Blades of Fury
- Oregon Trail
- X-Plane Airliner
- Hero of Sparta
- Brainchallenge
- Brothers in Arms

Yay Settlers work very good, but I can't get past first mission.
Gold smelter doesn't smelt gold :p The workers stand and do not bring him the coal... anyone else got this bug?

How can you get NFS:U running from MyDocs when the nfsuc binary needs to have execute permissions only available under EXT2 formatting and the formatting of /home/user/MyDocs is FAT32?

As root in the Xterm, type:

apt-get install preenv

I have make ext3 partition in MicroSD and i have install all my games, all games works except N.O.V.A! for what? you have solution?

N.O.V.A work in /home/user/ and not work in MicroSD partition ext3.

PS:N.O.V.A not launch.

Yes, you can manually remove the three desktop files (desktop file, service file, icon), as described in the FAQ in "Deleting games installed with old preenv 0.1"
. Since you did step 1 already, only do step 2 and 3.

Yea. It's in the wiki too :)
Delete those three files:

rm /usr/share/applications/hildon/filename.desktop
rm /usr/share/dbus-1/services/filename.service
rm /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/hildon/filename.png
and then reboot your n900.
