But yea it's normal. My n900 gets hot in the spot where SD card is.

I don't know android system too well, but I bet there's some kind a app for this... tuning screen brightness, declocking etc.

I think e-yes said once that he will work on power management, when all the main features will be operational.

i charged my N900 under Android mode, and it does work!
my method is to make N900 keep working without sleeping(or locked), and i have charged my N900 from 8% to 63% under android mode.

Well I have noticed that if you have tons of media files on your n900, the android mode gallery takes ages to update the list from memory. So what I did was turned on gallery waited for it to stop updating (took a while), Turned of the phone for 20 mins or so, booted back to nitdroid it didn't heat up as much. Then I got the SetCPU app from the android marketplace set my max to 750 and min to 125 and now i am sweet.

I also noticed it was hotter in Nitdroid than in Maemo and I have installed it also in the sd card.

But I have recently enabled swap in Nitdroid (also on the micro sd card) and it it's much cooler, more stable and more responsive now.

I'm having issues installing NITDroid to the eMMC. I'm using the second instructions on the wiki (http://wiki.maemo.org/Nitdroid_easy_..._EMMC#Method_2), but for some reason, I've hit a roadblock.

I've gotten to the point where I reboot and return the files to MyDocs, but when it goes to re-read the partition tables (1. root, 2. /home/user/bin/fdisk /dev/mmcblk0, 3. t. 4. 1, 5. 0c...) I get the response:
"WARNING: Re-reading the partition table failed with error 16: Device or resource busy
The kernel still uses the old table.
The new table will be used at the next reboot.
Syncing disks."

I am stumped as to what I'm doing wrong. This is a fresh eMMC and PR1.3 install with only added install being rootsh and FAM. Can anyone help me get this going??

Hello e-yes

I recently upgraded my Nitdroid Auto Installer 0.0.8 to the N_12 version with the latest kernel "nitdroid-kernel-2.6.28-07_rc4_armel". ( installed on External Memory)

I am not able to receive calls on Maemo after this update. i am able to make a call. Also note this issue is only when i am on 3g network, receiving calls is possible on 2G.

Are you sure? It takes a few minutes to completely extract and in the meantime it may seem that the command does nothing...

Im having a problem with market. When i click on a app to download, it will say "your item will be downloaded" then it will appear in the notification area but just immediately disappear without starting the download? Any suggestions. I already tried clearing my cache. And space is not the issue.

I update my market and the problem still persists. Only now i get a message: "App Name" could not be downloaded due to an error.

I have a problem, I am unable to connect my Network Provider's internet, I even tried logging the problem but m unable to log it too(from maemo)... I get the network coverage bars but not the internet. I also manually added the APN settings after contacting the network provider... any help??

Mount nitdroid partition as usual and extract the tarball as usual. Don't know the exact code, search a bit, you should find it easily.

there is this thing about nitdroid that bugs me badly :/
im thinking about using n900 as a tablet with N12 Umay and use a small phone just for phone calls.
but the problem in that case is:
i'll loose camera of n900
i wont have 3g&gprs on n900 as i put the simcard into other phone for phone calls

so it's a dead end...
any suggestions????

im OK with carrying another small phone in my pocket.
tethering internet over bt or wifi is not a solution.any suggestions other than that is welcome.

Seems like the bug has finally been solved
You can finally use Whatsapp on NITDroid on 3G/2G network with the newest version of Whatsapp (currently 2.6.8990) !!!

I have multiboot with kp46-w1 and nitdroid and omap1, but when I install any application in andriod (I've installed a file manager), i can't enter in the multiboot to kp46-w1, and it always says "can't flash kernel, required files not found Guru Meditation", I have only the option to run omap1 and reflash the kernel (kp-46-w1) again,

does nitdroid affects maemo?

i taked alternative to remove nitdroid from multiboot for avoid problems.

how I can fix this?

e-yes, do you planning some changes for CPU frequencies? Latest kernel-power (v49) has instead of 700 and 750, just 720 MHz and also supports dsp up to 600 MHz.

i follow you on twitter and saw that somebody's working on booting NITDroid using uboot. is that the plan with ICS? i think that would be great! :)
also, is it possible to use software keys for our ICS version? i don't want to overuse my camera button and the lock slider's pretty hard to access on my N900 (i got otterbox on). that way we can also use the camera button for the camera! :)
