Classic 419 style; for some reason they always put the country in brackets after a place name.

Also: less than £250 for a cyan 64GB N9 (has anyone got those?) when everyone else has black 64GB only - on backorder - for US$750+.

Lest there be any doubt: this IS a scam.

Please consider editing your original post to clearly mark it as such (saying there's a thin chance they're legit isn't quite strong enough for my taste).

So what is it that gives you that warm fuzzy feeling about these guys? Is it:
  • Less than half price N9 64GB!
  • Colour/model combo available nowhere else
  • Payment by Western Union/bank transfer only
  • Buy 5 get 1 free (pretty awesome deal - given how low their prices are, their margins must be fantastic to give such a great deal!)
  • Eager, poorly written email with one paragraph copy/pasted twice
  • Website built using "free ecommerce online store builder"
  • What google has to say about ecrater

...or something else?

Remember that N9 64GB are harder to find than a mermaid's toenail clippings right now.

It is a scam. It is not legitimate. 100% certain. No doubt. Please explain how the list above does not constitute proof (the price alone is enough).

No white N9 at all (except some Nokia prototype, not for sale).
No N9 64Gb of any color except black (see Nokia models list).

I really would not buy 5 N9 64Gb White, no matter the price :D

Well the cheapest is this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nokia-N9-1...item5646b5d3af
..and its in the UK:)

(£500 inc del)

However the one I ordered from is:

http://www.clickok.se/PartDetail.aspx?q=p:4233464

(£516 inc del) - however better for insurance purposes as from an actual shop! (thats how i justify it to myself;))

OK then! :)

As you prefer personal experience over my presumptuous reasoning, I'd say you ought to order five white N9 64GB from this 'vendor'; you'll have no trouble re-selling them for more than you paid, especially given that as far as we know not even Nokia Marketing have access to a white N9. You could even sell 5 and keep the 6th free one!

Do please let us know how you get on.

Just arrived in Lisbon for few days and found a Phone House which are having one N9 in stock, black, 16GB at 649€ ! Damn that's expensive (I didn't read the whole thread) I was expecting that price for the 64GB version.....although it's really a beauty!....

If there is any portuguese here can someone confirm that's the price here or I should try more? thx.

With the amount of money that I have I can get 2 N9's and sell them here in the USA for $650 + shipping fee (that UPS or FedEx usually charges).. I can get two from Malaysia, PM me if you're interested. (I'm located in Michigan so the closer the better and faster IMO, but I'm willing to ship anywhere in the U.S.).

EDIT: If I can get more, I will post it here.
EDIT2: Btw, I believe the N9's are 16GB (black).

I don't really have much intention of buying an N9. I am quite happy with my current phone. I was merely stating that from my own personal experiences thus far it is best not to 'jump the gun' or so to speak. Just because something seems certain doesn't make it so without considering all possible variables. For example, a football player shooting into an open goal from 10ft away, you would believe it would go in beyond a reasonable doubt. However there is still a minuscule chance that it won't as I have missed a shot in this exact scenario. This was my point. Although all logical and rational thought would point to it being a scam are quite clear, it is not certain. Maybe the vendors English is a 2nd or 3rd language as is most likely to be expected considering some of the countries the N9 is being released in. They might be colour blind and to them blue looks white, or maybe someone replied on their behalf without much knowledge of the products. While I appreciate sardonic remark, I don't think ridicule was the appropriate way to get your point across.

Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing

uhhh, okay

i received my N9 64G today. i charged it and tried to load as much stuff as i could without a microSIM card.

#1 if you hose the connection (ovi store/twitter/facebook - any built-in service - see below) you will have to perform a reset - otherwise you will receive erroneous messages about service availability; google for it if it happens to you and find out about the reset.

i went to t-mobile to get a microSIM. i'm not sure if i'm happy with the direction they're taking, but i've been with them for six years so i'll give them a chance.

#2 turn off 'suggestions' in music player from the main settings panel, unless you like being marketed to every time you listen to a song.

returned home, reset the device, got it connected to t-mo and house services and finally got logged in to ovi. downloaded the apps i thought i need and loaded ten gig of mp3s.

#3 facebook and twitter can not be un-installed.

#4 the browser is broken, or at least it appears that way to me. it seems to work fine if i click on links from search, but not so well with urls i type directly

#5 do i have to have my storage formatted vfat on a linux device? because on my N900 it was ext3, which means the file system didn't freak at mp3 files with crazy characters in their names; Ágætis byrjun anyone?

i'm sure i'll find more things, good and bad, as time goes on. i'm really looking forward to PR1.1; as for the good things:

#1 beautiful

#2 fits in the watch pocket of my jeans, like every other nokia i've owned

#3 audio - with dolby enabled (per app, ie. it must be enabled for audio and video separately) you get some extra low-end kick and some spatial, its really nice

#4 swipe - it really does rock

#5 camera - i'm just getting started with it

OK, I appreciate where you're coming from... but it's extremely clear to me that this is a scam. I'd hate someone to get bitten.
Sardonic remarks are my stock in trade, but my point is serious - they are offering a non-existent product for half the price anyone else would be selling it if it did exist - so you must know that it's a scam... surely?

Re: N9 16/64GB: worldwide availability & pricing

I just played with a black N9 at a Vodacom store in Johannesburg, South Africa. They didn't have any in stock for sale, nobody seems to around here, but they were expecting to get them in around the first week of November.

As for price, I was given a rough estimate of R9,000 unlocked, which is around USD$1,150. I'll assume that's the 64GB model, but that's really rather steep. The guy I spoke with is going to e-mail me the correct pricing information when they get the phones in stock.

There was a Nokia representative there, talking with someone else at the store. It was his N9 that I was trying out. He kept glancing nervously at me to make sure I wasn't going to run off with his demo device.

There were N9 mockups at another store, Nashua Mobile, but no real N9s available for sale yet. They wouldn't sell them off-contract, anyway.
