Re: [Announce] CSSU stable release

Got part way through stable install....hope someone can please advise...

I setup repos, using mirrors (skeiron.org...)...

Then clicked on stable link on wiki page to start install process...

HAM opened up and after a bit, got the request for adding CSSU repo install..went OK...

then clicked on the CSSU installer icon on desktop and it opened terminal and got catalog info and started to download some items...

Got some error message about one catalog and about 3 messages about Key Expired on some items....

Now, CSSU installer on desktop is gone...

What should I do now?

Would have liked to have been able to copy the text shown in terminal, but didn't know way to do it and last line of text said "press any key to exit"...

Thanks!

UPDATE - CSSU Stable Installed

OK, figured out what was wrong....my bad.....figured I'd leave this post and include this update as it might save someone else some time and energy if in similar situation....

So, decided to try install again...

This time I noticed that the Extras-Devel catalog repo info in HAM was incorrect.

Corrected repo address and voila! catalog updated OK and then install process completed OK this time....

So far, all is good now....

:)

Not.
Code:

The following packages have been kept back:

mp-fremantle-community-pr is already the newest version.

This may be related to the fact that before I removed the mp-fremantle-generic-pr * together with adobe-flashplayer*?

Re: [Announce] CSSU stable release

These posts have me wondering what is the preferred method to upgrade CSSU after initial install.

Is it better to use apt-get or use the CSSU installer and re-install CSSU?

Thanks!

Best to use HAM.

Re: [Announce] CSSU stable release

Nor by x-terminal, neither by the HAM do not go update cssu to version 6. No matter what repos I use, whether skeiron or repository.maemo.org. It's not.

Once you have Community SSU enabler installed, you not make it do re-install.

Code:

# apt-get install --reinstall mp-fremantle-community-pr
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Reinstallation of mp-fremantle-community-pr is not possible, it cannot be downloaded.

Thanks....

I have the Community, Extras-Devel, and Extras catalogs active in HAM and using the skeiron.org mirrors now due to issues with other repos...

I've looked in HAM for anything that might be a CSSU stable update, but I don't see anything listed as CSSU update, unless I just missed it somewhow....

What name should I see for this in HAM?

Thanks!

Thanks, but still not clear as to what to do to upgrade CSSU version that I have installed now.....

As noted in previous post, when I look in list of apps to install in HAM, I do not see any listed that seem to relate to CSSU version upgrade.

What should I be looking for to install?

Thanks!

Do you have the Community Repository enabled?
What version CSSU are you on now?

Yes, but since the regular repos have been down lately, I've been using the skeiron.org repos...

Think the regular repos are up now....can try using them...

So are you saying that I should see an item in the HAM download list that says something like 'CSSU Update' or ???

In settings>About Maemo 5 Community SSU, I see the following:

Community SSU Installed
Version: 21.2011.38-1Smaemo5
Flavor: Stable

Thanks!

Re: [Announce] CSSU stable release

Put your repos back, don't enable testing or devel application repos and then click update.

You should have enabled:-
Nokia SSU
maemo.org Extras
Community SSU

Thanks for all the input...

OK, disabled the skeiron and extras-devel repos...

I have the maemo.org Extra and Community SSU repos enabled....

Regarding the Nokia SSU repo, is this the same as the one I have called 'Community SSU Stable' with the following address:

http://repo/repository.maemo.org/community/community

Or is it another repo?

Thanks!

Try mr0 instead of 203, this is for Global Firmware.
If you know which firmware variant you used, use the same.

Thanks for the suggestion and all your help. Greatly appreciate it!

Don't recall reflashing this N900...have had a few the past few years....so, I'll assume that I should use the Global variant....

Hmmmm.........just tried refresh catalogs in HAM and get the following error message about the Nokia SSU catalog:

Quote:

https://downloads.maemo.nokia.org/fr...u/mr0/Packages
Couldn't resolve host 'downloads.maemo.nokia.org'
So, just to clarify....

Do I have the url address correct?

when you wrote './' was this supposed to be in the Distribution line in the catalog fields?

Also, did you leave the Components field blank?

Thanks

It seems that the upgrade mp-fremantle-community-pr to version 6 is not in the repositories.
