any chance you can flash with stock and see if the settings "about" includes firmware information instead of unknown?

I just flashed it to 125-800.. figured this was the type of phones you buy if you intend to hack it... if not why not get a n97 or iphone...

lol i -waited for it to load my widgets-...
went to check that... posted it.. then switch it back off n flashed the 900/500 straight away..

its loaded the home screen in a split second.. lol..

add: stock now feels primitive... this IS the business...

Running 800mhz stock fine. Figured I just wanted a boost in performance but didn't want to risk anything. Also need my battery life =D

Are we sure this is related to the kernel flash?
I flashed it to the 900 Mhz and my Settings, About product reads:

Nokia N900
Maemo 5
Version: 3.2010.02-8.203.1

You'll be surprised how little battery life will be impacted.
Actually, if you idle a lot, it might even run for longer. =)
