Yes, but customer is always right! :P

Doesnt apply.

Nokia KNOWS they will shift these units regardless.

They everyone tranced up. These 300 people that have bragged on how good the N900 is was a very good marketing/advertisement scheme as not only do you see hyped up reviews that pull in the masses but giving Nokia the ability to listen and perfect the device.

It's a win/win situation.

Only if they actually deliver the device to us! :) hehe - otherwise its a marketing ploy for a device that will be outdated before the rest of us even see it :)

Ha ha I think you'll find that the "customer" is somewhat more important to a business than the "stockholder". It's nice that you imagine yourself not worthy to lick Nokia's shoes but it's certainly an unusual view for people trying to decide whether they're going to give their €550/$550 to Nokia, Apple, Motorola or HTC.

People have choices and Nokia needs customers a lot more than customers need Nokia. If Nokia refuses to adapt itself to what customers want, egged on by a few die hards, it's market share will continue to diminish and in a few years time "Nokia" will be a brand owned by HTC.

Actually no they don't. Nokia already discovered that when it gave it to 300 testers they had feedback significant enough to delay the device.

The N900 is a nice platform but to compete with the others it has to get a lot of things right. It's a new platform dropping into a market with several well established and popular platforms (iPhone, Android) and to attract people to it will not be easy.

The average person will look at the N900 and say "Where's the turn by turn maps?" or "Where's the application the remembers where you parked your car like my friend's iPhone has?".

Per my post in the other thread - he won that device at a meetup, it's not a production supply-chain model. it was shipped to him by Nokia HQ direct from Helsinki.

Nokia HQ is in Espoo, near Helsinki :)

Just got reply from email i sent to Nokia UK support last week, they expect to start shipping (even saying tentatively/subject to change) on the 19th, so thursday

We are fools to belive in Nokia words...

Why they want Palm Pre? I have an idea...
Let say this: you have a good product.... you are loosing drammatically market share... YOU SELL IT if u can... if you think that selling it won't get yuor position worst...

I don't know guys but I am getting really tired of this bull*****

Nokia say something if you don't want a rebellion... or to loose the little trust you have earn with your costumer after the N97 Flop ... and the mini says everything...

Don't believe it!

In fact I think Nokia lied about the products shipping last Tuesday in the first place (in my opinion)

Nokia N900 Will not be delivered before November 28th.

Please Nokia tell the truth...

And go to Apple to learn costumer service... You have no idea how many client you are loosing... tell the true.

Re: N900 shipping delayed

There’s not much to cheer about in quarterly results from mobile phone giant Nokia that included an unexpected net loss of $834 million (the first since Nokia started reporting quarterly results in 1996) and a nearly 20% decline in revenues year-over-year. That’s €2.43 billion less on the top line, or $3.62 billion at today’s exchange rate. Investors were certainly in no mood to celebrate: By late afternoon in Helsinki trading, Nokia shares were down nearly 9%, to €9.41, and they plunged more than 10% in New York in the morning.

And this is way Nokia is a lier.

Re: N900 shipping delayed

If n900 flops... well Nokia will ahve to say goodbye to the rich high end costumer and go back selling 50€ phones... with Symbian.... ahahahahahahhahah
I will wait until tonite. No N900 today means no N900 till december... and will buy a DROID or a PRE... and I swear I won't be interested in nokia lies for the rest of my life

whilst i'm not hugely angry at it being Thursday, as it's taken this long anyway etc.... does make me wonder versus other sellers releasing their pre orders "before" this date, eg MPD in the UK

Please remember that nokia.co.uk and all the other Nokia web outlets are not necessarily anything to do with Nokia at all (the UK one is outsourced, I assume the rest probably are too)

Nokia have only said that the products shipped last week, nothing else.
The web shops may have guessed at other dates, but this is not Nokia.

Agreed it's frustrating, but Nokia haven't lied about anything.
Not giving the information we want isn't the same as lying.

I suppose you are right but surely the HUGE "N900 OUT NOW" image on the site below, is a little tincy wincy lie? Or at least stretching the truth? lol

Ok they haven't lied ---- accepted --- but then that makes them a completely incompetent business from a sales / customer service point of view!!

MW2 got released on time and the online PS3 version is broken.
Would you prefer it if Nokia released the N900 broken too?

Its not the delay - its truthful communication that's lacking - give an exact release date to the end consumer and live up to it!

Their competitors can - its not rocket science - no wonder Nokia are where they are - its their own fault!

Exact release date where? In UK, US, Indonesia, South Africa or Brazil? Would you like all the other markets to wait before they put the devices on sale until even the most remote locations have some in stock? Not to mention that there are several retailers in each market. Do you mean a release date when you will be able to walk to your nearest brick&mortar shop and buy one off the shelf? Or do you want a release date when your pre-order will arrive by mail to your doorstep?

Dall of Duty was stockpiled in the storerooms of many/most shops for several days before the release date.

I think he's just asking for an individual retailer (whether that be a bricks and mortar store or an online company) to communicate directly and honestly with its customers about when a product will be dispatched. Noone's asking them to know about the release date in other countries or even the release date of other companies in the same country. This is something I would expect them to...well, you know..actually know, what with it being their business and everything.
