well mine just arrived!!!
but there's a catch.....
it arrived to my old ****ing address. some 2.5 hours train journey away!!!!!!! ****ing royal mail screwing me over! i redirected my post for a reason and the DOES cover special delivery within uk.

Maaaaan, dont have time to go get it this week. massive assignemt to finish, gotta hand in written work tomorrow, give a presentation on friday, trains a buggered at the weekend :( :( :( this sucks :(

Whoaaa!! thats crap! But...atleast you know you have one. Just think of playing with your N900 after all the work your doing! Train's arnt too bad on weekends, and if you book your ticket now you can have it cheaper!
Or sort out someone to post it on to you

yeah true, i suppose i could handle a total 5 hours on the trains on sat to go pick it up.

I dont think i'll get it sent up here, dont trust royal mail now. Did wonder why i hadnt seen any post all week.

I ordered 8th Nov vodafone contract £35 unlimited texts and unlimited web

Oh ****. Looks like we're in the same boat of N900 delivered but not to were i bloody live!! Maybe call RM? see if they can help? tho they screwed me over so dunno if they'll be much help.

Yep, problem is that there are no spares as yet. MPD and Nokia care say take it to local shop (Banbury) Banbury manager says he doesn't have spares to replace it with.

So I loose it for a few weeks or hang on till there are spares.

Too pissed off to concentrate but have two reports to write today and an illustrated overview of this software interface i had to design.
Boring arse assignment, just want it over, so i can play with my new toy. I hope it doesnt have the rebooting issue or a dead mic :/
The not knowing is killing me now but i HAVE to be the first person to play with it, I'm sure you agree with me there!

Except I live int he country so I only need to use my ears. Every helicopter/plane that flies overhead makes the dog bark, which makes think the postman is here and i get all excited!

yeah and everytime a red car/van goes past it gets my hopes up and then they are shattered when i realise its not royal mail!

Just got a call from my flatmate who is late for work that a Nokia box has arrived at home!! He's gonna bring it to me in the office - let's hope I'll be able to do at least some work today :)
Btw, Ordered 19/11 Vodafone 18 35+Web, Ready for despatch 4/12, delivered btween 9 and 9.45 on 9/12. No message from Vodafone about porting my number yet though, status still says ready for despatch and no oreder complete e-mail either.

I couldn't wait, i left for Local PO straightaway.. but they said no we don't have it yet.. you should allow 24hours for collection...

Is it only me that always goes to MPD through Googles sponsored link on the basis that it'll be costing them money?

I had the full price of my sim free phone leave my card 2 days ago, they said it would be sent that day... guess what... NO PHONE or even a RM card. B*ll*cks!

I have "ready for dispatch" showing on the MPD website... Here's hoping that it's good news! Phone ordered on Saturday so they missed on the next day delivery promise but I'm reasonably confident that it's on its way... Looks like people have had some pretty bad experiences though.

Finally Received the device. Ordered 24/10/2009 on TMobile Cotract
Called them yesterday with regards to my status from Thursday "Ready for Dispatch" - MPD said I should have it by Friday. After a couple of minutes of talk about me going away for my holidays, called me back and said I should have it by today. So, good news. Received this morning around 9 o'clock.
Hope some of you that are still waiting will receive in the nearest future.

I completely understand others being annoyed at MPD for delivering others devices before theirs, even if they ordered months(in some cases) in advance!
Mine came from Reading, which I thought was the lazy store...

Its so worth the wait guys, its simply superb. *no problems so far...*

Haha- here's something amusing- the day after I received it and now I've asked them for a returns wotsit, I've suddenly got 'Thank you for placing your order with Mobile Phones Direct.

You know this has happened to me so many times - I'll get something online....and then something is wrong with it or something missing!

You get all excited, open the box - you imagine all the cool stuff you'll do with it.....then you find out it's f****!

The last time that happend to me was when I ordered a DSTT cartridge for my son's DS

Initially you are in denial and think "I must of done something wrong", then you get desperate and try wierd things like wait until it's a full moon then switch it on or keep resetting it hoping it will work, perform an "african rain dance" round the battery, perform wierd medeviel rituals while standing in the middle of a pentagram....

Then you sit there and become totally depressed!

Don't worry I'm sure you will get it sorted out, one way or another you will get a working N900 - it's inevitable!

Hopefully things have calmed down a wee bit at MPD and should get a replacement soon.
