The small print does not specify Amazon.com but just phones sold in the US from today and until new years.

Does pre-sale mean the date that your invoice is issued and phone is shipped and charged. Or the day you originally posted the order?

Howdy, just registered to reply to u.
According to Newegg Customer rep, anyone who placed an order (means when your preoreder converts to order) gets a 50$ VISA card. So basically we all covered.

We'll all covered IF they convert the pre-order to an order by the end of the year. After that the rebate offer expires.

Re: N900 shipping delayed

I was using my iPod Touch in bed last night and realised how limited it really is. Forum pages fit on the screen nicely but the dpi is just that bit too low to make reading easy, could probably handle slightly less zoom on the N900 so a lot of pages would fit on the screen fine. Then there is the whole "gotta close Safari to switch playlists" or "gotta close Safari to open the Twitter app", I realised just how slow it all is.

Ironically I think Safari IS supposed to multitask and clearly iPod mode does, but its just as slow as switched between apps which don't continue to run in the background. Now maybe not if I had a iTouch 3G with the same specs as the N900 but its a mute point, I ordered the damn N900 so for the little sanity I have left PLEASE let it arrive this week. I can't make a typo with the on screen keyboard and have to wipe it and start again (due to no back button and lack of stylus to precisely position the cursor) one more time, its driving me insane(r).

I will miss the whole music browsing and Genius system of the iTouch, but it will more than be made up by easier copying music onto the device (straight from the web browser) and the fact I wont be carrying two devices around with me all the time. Not to mention all the other benefits I do not need to list, you know what you are.

I'm beginning to wonder if I even need an n900 any more, all I'm doing the whole time with my 3gs is checking to see whether it has shipped yet.... What will I do when I finally get it? The web won't be worth checking anymore, everything else seems lime empty news if it's not news about my beloved n900, the wanting is getting far beyond intense

If his prediction is true it'd be for Nokia and Nokia sponsored (Dell, MPD) retailers.

This forum is nothing but hunches... by members, or by retailers. I hope you're right, but what makes your hunch so powerful?

NO!!!! All these hunches and confident statements are the reason behind why the N900 is delayed!

I blame nuknuk! *points finger*! Everytime he quotes a date the n900 doesnt arrive and gets delayed further. Its him i tell you, its him.

:D

Every time some new device is announced that creates a lot of interest, there are threads like this that go on endlessly trying to guess when the device is going to come out. They are full of hunches, "inside" information, endless criticism of the manufacturer for not delivering the product on a schedule tailored to the convenience of the particular person posting in the thread, and finally very long off topic debates. I think it's just a way of passing the time between the first announcement, when there's lots of new information, and the interminable lull when there's no news and everyone is just waiting. Unfortunately, checking threads like this, on a daily basis, only exaggerates the sense of time passing and torments the expectant user of the upcoming device (yours truly included).

I preordered N900 @ Amazon USA yesterday night.

Today morning when i checked the order status, the expected delivery date was after December 25th.

I was pi**ed off and cancelled the order.

Bad luck i have to leave USA by 18th December.

Bump. I don't like the "other" thread "OPK: N900 deliveries have now started!!"

NOBODY has recieved shipping confirmation yet. That thread makes me angry.

This thread is more accurate.

The same source he's always had every time he's been wrong in the past. N900 doesn't really exist. "select markets from oct 2009" lolnice one nokia....

Did nokia even ship it to retailers last week when they put that announcement out? Seemed like all the retailers got excited and MPD were then able to say they would ship on 16/11/09. Now, eithor mokia were lying, or pirates intercepted the shipment because they're nowsaying dec or January before they get them. WTF?
