Is the weather app working for people?

Mine is not refreshing since I think yesterday and if I try to do it manually it gives me "problem with data download" or in finnish "ongelma tiedon lataamisessa". After that there is nothing I can do. Rebooting didn't help.

Tried searching but saw no problems like this. Have to check jolla.together as well.

But just a quick qiestion, others having problems as well?

Oh, it seems that the app itself is working, but the notification screen add-on is not. Even reinstalling didnt help

Just tried it, and yeah I get the same problem. I think it automatically updates as the weather has chagned, but manually in the events view, it fails.

Strangely, the weather application in my case causes the phone to reboot 1-2 times per day. As soon as I remove/uninstall the app the reboots disappear.

I don't have that problem either. I haven't had a spontaneous reboot in a long time on my Jolla Phone, except for one time but that was due to playing with a patch so that's an expected bug.

NOT accepted. What about I-am-master-of-my-private-data?
(even more I doubt if the Jolla is up-to-date to support that, but I may be wrong and they fixed it already.

The only way I have managed is manually export my contacts as VCF and import them on the other side.

Jolla is supposed to be able to sync with other devices over Bluetooth. The list of supported devices explicitly included Nokia N900. But it never worked for me, the manual transfer was the only way.

@all,

FYI I have just decided to jump in and ordered a Jolla :)

Given that until now I've conciously ignored the topic, I'm a complete Jolla-virgin :)
But I'm happy I did it.

I'll probably come back with many questions in due course...

Well the experience is much better now than when the Jolla first came out. But people still don't seem happy with it, some are justified some are not

Well I'm very happy with it and I know others that are as well :p I'm not trying to be a fanboy and also have several critics towards the product - but why not give @reinob the change to judge the phone himself? ;)

The dark side is (to me) still the N900. And I'm OK with it :)

I somehow doubt I'll influence him on it ;) but I remember unpacking it and boom wifi not working, lag everywhere and no way to sync contacts. The good old days haha

Welcome (to the more modern side).

Have fun with it.
But also be prepared for a few/lot hiccups.

You will find out ...

P.S.: using it as mini-tablet only

Depending on you're situation, that's still the case for some people! :(

I've updated mine to the latest OS so I might try to get CalDAV/CardDAV working again. cPanel 11.50 have added CalDAV/CardDAV support via SabreDAV so I'm curious to see if that will work instead of Apple's implementation or ownCloud.

Yeah, it's not perfect, but I really like mine and have far fewer issues with my Jolla, than my wife does with her Motorola android (and her previous Samsung one too, actually). She's always going on about lost contacts, vanishing music, etc. and don't get me onto the lollipop update...!

not sure if this has been brought up before but..
after the recent update.. I cant sign into my jolla account... (well I can.. but it doesn't stay logged in)

which means I cant access jolla store..

i noticed this when i was opening the jolla store and it told me to sign in.. so i did.. it all looked fine. and then when i go back to jolla store, it still says for me to sign in.. so i go back to my accounts.. and it says jolla account not signed in...
tried it many many times..

What a coincidence. I had a nearly identical experience. Made a 2 minutes long video and when I pressed stop, Camera froze. No reboot but the next I know, Store showed an empty list in My Apps and Settings/Sailfish Updates popped up a "Corrupt store" (or something like that) banner. Sailfish Utilities/Rebuild App Repository fixed it, at the cost of one reboot.

Oh, and that video was lost.

Regarding the camera crash: I haven't that for a long time now. Last time I had that was several system updates ago. But seems like the bug is still there for some then...

Re: Jolla User Experience Thread

Got an interesting experiment going: non technical busy women now pushed to Sailfish.

My better half's Samsung Note2 broke down (some call it "sudden death syndrome", I call it built in obsolescence, thanks Samsung)
After a week with a Nokia E71, she happily accepted my Jolla.

She is not an app junk, only wants functionality she needs for work. So I had to find a solution for Skype and SIP with biggest priority.

Later there might come requests for Exchange server connection.

The biggest let down is that SIP is not yet integrated into Sailfish accounts and calling UI after almost 2 years.

CSIPSimple for Android works and needs allowance of "Android app background notifications" per application setting.

Happy to see the progress as CSIPSimple simply did not work during the days I have been testing it end of 2013 early 2014.

SIP call quality over Wifi using this program was very good.

Skype works but needs enabling of "allow Androids apps to access contacts" global setting, which is a bit of an unwanted security breach since MS will surely suck that address book to their severs.

Sailfish user interface seems to be no problem to adapt to coming form an old 2012 Android version.

Now waiting to see if any complaint about missing calls due to low volume or people simple not capable to reach the phone (happened to me twice)

Re: Jolla User Experience Thread

I'm currently experiencing problems with my Jolla account. For some reason I got logged off on my phone and the account didn't want to activate again.
I checked the account on: https://account.jolla.com/registration/login/
I could login and everything seemed ok.

So I send Jolla caredesk a message. They replied that they checked my account and everything should be ok and that I should read the information on: https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/a...test-OS-update
before logging into my phone (oh, and they advised a reboot before logging into my phone again).
So before logging into my phone again I read the article which suggests to check your account on a PC via: https://account.jolla.com/registration/login

So I tried it but I couldn't login this time. I clicked the 'Forgot password' link and received an email with a link and a reminder about my username.

However it wasn't my username they send but a username from somebody else.

Anybody else currently experiencing problems with accounts? Because I think Jolla has got some DB issues to solve.

After the latest update (to 1.1.7.27 from 1.1.7.25) the device told me to set up login again in accounts when I first opened the store after the update.

I assumed this was OK and needed because there were some changes to both store client and the store server backend in the latest release.

I just relogged on, and that was it. No problems.

I had the same behaviour as juiceme. BUT being still on 1.1.6.xx.
Just once entering password and good to go ...
No idea why that was needed!

Forgot there was an account there - never needed it as far as I know, or is it linked to the Flatr payment system as well?

Most of the time you indeed do not even need to remember that you have a Jolla account, but it needs to be set or else you cannot load anything from the store :D

Understood you need it to download applications, also to comment on applications,

but if you forget the password or suspected DB trouble happens, like today, creating a new account does not set the user back, does it?

It is even better to create a new account now and then to evade tracking.

Probably yeah, also could you please 'ls -la /dev/diag'?

PS I'm asking since SnoopSnitch on Android uses it, so I'm just asking if Jolla enables it - waiting for J2 :)
