Re: U-Boot for Nokia RX-51 with BootMenu (updated version 2012.10-rc3-1)
And, upstream U-Boot now contains integration tests for N900 which are run as part of the U-Boot CI pipeline. Integreation tests start u-boot in qemu n900 and check that built u-boot can correctly boot kernel from various locations (attached/RAM, onenand, eMMC) with various bootmenu settings. So it should be in good shape as CI pipeline would alert u-boot developers if qemu n900 is unable to start u-boot.

Upd.: disregard everything below, I just managed to skip over step 4 in the bootloader manual (in my defense, the closing <pre> was missing a slash so the page wasn't being formatted correctly; just made a wiki account and fixed it).
Hi everybody! I'm just getting started with my N900 journey and hit a road block pretty early on. I'm following the manual, but after flashing the latest release of Leste (maemo-leste-5.0-armhf-n900-20250414.img.xz) with dd onto a SDXC U3 32GB microSD and creating a bootloader with U-Boot, I never get past an unlit screen with the NOKIA logo on it. Tried both the 2013 and 2020-pali versions of U-Boot. If I unplug the N900 and power it on, it boots normally into the 2009 Fremantle version with which it was originally shipped and displays a message about the SD card not being compatible right after loading. Is there any obvious thing I could be doing wrong here? |

Great and thanks for fixing the instructions. And welcome to TMO! There is a thread where new members can say hi: https://talk.maemo.org/showthread.ph...embers&page=52
If you are not yet on Maemo Leste iirc channel you could join there to follow developing and contributing if you have skills. |
