Well if it comes tommorow you can have a whole day chilling out with the thing like I have today. It's worth the wait seriously. Just one more sleep....watch a film to take your mind off it tonight and you will have it before you know it!! haha

Just need to wait a little bit longer.

I'm busy looking for advice and recommended applications while I wait for mine to arrive.

Thanks to this thread and others I know exactly what I am going to test on the N900 too.

Could someone post Karl's (CEO of MPD) email address again? I saw it at some point a few days ago but I cannot find it any more. Cheers

Ordered 7/11, ready for dispatch since the 3rd and no calls/email since then. Vodafone 12 months, 30+Web.

Ordered 14th of October and still "Pending Stock"

On the 16th of Dec, I'll need my third PAC code :(

I wonder whether all the people with a PAC code are still waiting as they left them last, or it is really a totally random order they are completing the orders.

Ordered 22.11. Voda 30+
Ready for dispatch since Friday.
No parcel, no email, no call.

But I have a new hobby: N900 status polling.
It's all badly done, really bad. I bet there were some heads rolling.

No, I got mine today. Ordered 19/11, switching from O2 to vodafone. When people started receiving ready for dispatch last week mine was still showing Pending PAC, so I sent them an e-mail asking what's going on and it changed to RFD on the next day. Not sure if the e-mail made any difference.

As has been suggested before the most likely explanation for people getting it out of order is that MPD sent the N900s out to their stores and from then it pretty much depends which store is handling your order - some stores go through the orders faster and some slower.

The device is awesome, definitely worth the wait. And no bugs so far, hopefully it's just a few that are defective.

This is heartening news for me - ordered a couple of days before you and am making the same journey between networks, so fingers crossed tomorrow! I've been proper patrolling the house waiting for the mail all week. Backshifts, eh?

On another note, had a wee false alarm this avo in the form of a call from Vodafone, slightly paraphrased:
[him]:"Hello I'm looking for Mr <my name>"
[me, thinking I need to confirm my card details]:"HELLOOOO!:D"
[him]:"I see you've been with us some time... no, actually:o, you've just joined - is everything working ok for you now?"
[me, heart rate returning to rest]:":(Still waiting on the phone actually - N900"
[him]:"The N900 isn't out yet..."
[me]:"Maybe you'd be better phoning back next week."
[him]:"Good idea. Bye"

Good service that would have been, if I had the phone.

So they have notified Vodafone about the port then.. Is your O2 connection still working?

I am also O2 to Vodafone. I ordered 7/11 but I don't know if they notified Vodafone yet. I sent MPD an email if they need a new PAC code (guess what, no response).

No this wont work. iPlayer desktop uses Adobe's AIR runtime, and while they'be announced the v10.1 Player (i.e. browser plugin) for Maemo sometime next year, they've not said anything about AIR. Of course, if comes with the v9 player.

You should be fine using iPlayer online.

what does ready for dispatch actually mean on MPD ??? does it mean it will be posted tomorrow or in a few weeks ??? its ridiculous how long it takes them to send it out

My O2 phone is still working away fine, aye. I'm remaining pretty philosophical about the delay - if they value my custom I'm sure they'll do what they can to sort me out.

I think my even temper would fray a wee bit if they knocked my current phone off the network without a replacement though.

No mic or reboot issues with mine. Can't use it at the moment as I am waiting for my Inivisible Armour stuff to 'dry'. If I knew the stuff was so silly to install, I would have just got a cheapo ebay screen protector...

Battery is holding out fine, just a little disappointed with the flash. "Get on my horse" by Weebl is laggy on newgrounds; although, it could just be the ads slowing it down.

Half a battery left, and I got up at 5:30! Reasonable usage, all day 3G and wifi turned on. Tried out the FM transimitter in my car and ran it alongside navigation for half an hour. Currently sitting at half battery :D
