I emailed Karl Borges, asking for an update as to where my N900 was. This was his reply;

I’ll ask our webshop manager to check now.

Your order has been allocated to a store today and will be processed tomorrow and will be with you by the weekend.

Well, RM failed.

I got the "Sorry you were out" bumf posted this morning.
Only item for Special delivery for me is the phone.

Strangely, the time on the leaflet corresponds to the time i was sitting having a cup of tea...

@Alfa147: I got the text today also. Good luck for tomorrow.

I'm just hoping nobody at the sorting office knows whats in this package.

i ordered 26th of nov,

and my status says "More Info Sent" anyone else got the same??

i sent them proof of identity like they asked and no word from there.

i order on the 15/11 and got mine early this morn, but i didnt get much information about my contact, infact the sim card they sent didnt even have my number on it or any information about the insurance bar the invoice, was it just me?

Oh ok thanks. I ordered on 26th Nov on the same tarriff so should hopefully get delivered around the same time! :D

its not fine watching online terrible in fact and thats through a wifi connection, this is why were looking for other means.

The problem with it online is the picture lags behind sound and it stops and starts all the time.

it really need a link to a stand alone player

Probably not as long as we've waited since we pre-ordered a while back, i was waiting about a month but others wated since september! Tho you may have hope since some have ordered relatively recently and have recieved theirs so you may get it sooner than you think with any luck :)

i got mine today. i just picked up my n900 from nokia regent street.its works well. no dead pixels, no reboots and mics works well. "freedom from mpd". im writing this words in my n900. i will post pics tomorrow.

I've tried to keep busy while I wait (impatiently!) for my n900 to arrive.

I am a software developer and currently learning about the development environment around the n900.

The next thing I will do is install the SDK and start to muck about with stuff.

Here is a question (offtopic). I know that the phone functionality is not strictly open-source but are the applications that are included by default fully open source (e.g. full source for these apps available)?

From what have read on the forums so far, there seems to be a few "short-comings" with some of the software and would like to contribute to fixing stuff.

i ordered my phone on the 9th nov and my status still says pending pac even though i dont need a pac.
also no money has been taken from my bank yet the first payment of £136
i have emailed about 6 or 7 times with no reply the phone service is just a answer phone everytime you call.
im really not happy with mpd this service is a joke

finally got my hands on the n900 last night after it sitting in the post office for 31 hours. Im writing on the train this with the n900, phone is brilliant- no real problems as of yet. Only t mobiles 3g coverage lets it down but thats to be expected.

I emailed this bloke late late last night - I got a reply within hours, at 4am, telling me my email had been forwarded to (the name of some guy head of something or other) and he will deal with my query within the next few hours.

Amazed. Been trying to get through to them for decades, and their boss replies outside of working hours.

Ordered 21/11/09 - Porting number from Orange to Vodaphone 30 contract

Ready for dispatch 4/12/09

Called them 9/12/09 - Where's my phone

Answer: Not dispatched wont be till the weekend "should" get early next week (14th onward)

10/12/09 Text from Vodaphone saying number will go live from 4pm on 11/12/09

So MPD, no phone for a while then, thanks!!!!!!!

Just spoken to MPD and they received a large shipment of N900s this morning and are hoping to fill most orders today with expected delivery in the next 48 hours!

I won't hold my breath but this sounds hopeful!

So that means your Vodafone contract goes live without the phone ?

Technically this means a few days of your contract will be "wasted".
Maybe you can wangle free delivery or a blutooth headset as compensation or "goodwill" gesture?
