Re: External battery pack for N8x0/770.
total eye candy!
decent price too. But I was thinking more along the lines of something that can hold.. well, -every-thing-. The size of the Mp1550 isnt that big, and I've seen some of the Nintendo DS cases.. wha i was thinking was something similar that could fit the battery pack in back of the N800 to carry together in one case! haha I love portable devices :D |

Also, be advized that this is a leather case and will need acclimatizing. The first few days it's going to feel really stiff. And finally, I've just discovered that the flap makes a more than decent reading and viewing stand. |
Re: External battery pack for N8x0/770.
This was linked to earlier, but no one seems to have commented on it.
http://www.semsons.com/pocpowban.html At 19 bucks it seems to be a better deal than the 1550 and comes with 4 1600ma batteries. Those arent very high capacity, but it is better than nothing. I also have a set of 4 2100ma batteries. I also bought something similar to this from ebay that I plan to use with it and my laptop Link I got it for 4 bucks shipped |

Well I didnot read all of the posts so if I appear to ignore someone or duplicate other's idea please forgive me.
I think the third option (ie. the battery geek one) is a go if you had the money. It'll beat any other battery solutions in terms of durabilty and size. Only problem is it's a single battery pack, so if anything goes wrong, you are done. I also know a Chinese guy who sells his own home-made(appears to be, but in a industry quality) battery pack with roughly half the battery geek's capacity but a lot cheaper(~$60). It's called MPS(Mobile Power Station). The guy originally made it for PSP players who need long battery life, and it turned out to be a must-have for all kinds of geeks(of course geeks who uses electronics). The catch is, however, it's hard to get in North America.:( |
Re: External battery pack for N8x0/770.
I've ordered this one for a try (it is laptop/usb). 8800maH (32.5Wh) for $75.
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2283 Mainly for my Cradlepoint EVDO router, but it could recharge my BT headset, n810, and BT gps at the same time, and I can use my laptop chargers. |

Re: External battery pack for N8x0/770.
FYI - Tekkeon MP1550 (4xAA 2000mah eneloops) working fine with this cheapo hub:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4398 The Tekkeon power cable plugs directly into the hub without adapter and Im currently using a USB keyboard, a generic flash thumbdrive and a Simpletech Bonzai SD card reader all at the same time. My 2.5in external Acomdata USB hard disk (FAT32) works too. Trick is to connect the hub without power first if you are using an auto host mode cable, then once its recognized plug in the power then any power hungry devices. USB thumbdrives + keyboard work fine through the hub without additional power. If you have an additional usb->nokia charging cable you can even charge the n8x0 off the hub while everything is connected. |
