OK, sorry. Maybe it is a valid question. But I will say that if Nokia starts playing such games *now*, it's going to be a really weird strategic move considering they just switched to GPL software.

GPL2, not GPL3, so they can get away with "tivolizing" it, technically...

Of course, but I meant that it would be weird for them to move towards more open and more closed at the same time.

I am existed to see a sync suite; I just hope it is as good as Nokia’s existing sync suite.

Love the FM transmitter, and Camera with Auto focus + Flash.
I am totally sold on Maemo, just concerned about some product design features.

I hope to see a heap of the existing apps out the box like SSH, RDP, and a contact manager I can access faster then Palm, and better build quality than my n810.

I would also like to see HSDPA for all regions, not just North America or Europe.

It's not inflated. It matches the cost of other similar devices, and is much better than all of them. Don't compare it to the old Maemo devices, which are much older.

If it has a cell phone radio in it.. it's an inflated price. You don't have to compare it to the older Nokia devices.. simply look at ANY equivalent hardware at any point in time with and without a cellular radio (ie iPhone vs iTouch, Nokia tablets (n8x0) vs similar smartphones, Palm Tungsten T5/TX versus Palm Treo's). It seems as if you could easily shave off $300 or more from almost any device by simply not designing a cellular radio into it.

So yes.. it's inflated.

Hey, at least they didn't put them inside the keyboard drawer.

Good point. :) It COULD get worse.

Looks a bit thick I think. That would be my major gripe.

No, seriously, side-speakers means less volume but more stereo separation (at least indoors, especially near furniture/walls) compared to face-speakers. Also, the top slide with the screen is thinner so you'd have weaker speakers there anyway even if you solved the layout problem.

PS. As for stylus - Eldar has a prototype from apparently months ago. For all we know, that thingy in the corner might be just a plastic placeholder and stylii will be there only for production devices.

The only thing I don't like is the statusbar. Kinda huge design fail, icons are too disordered. I'd rather do something like this: http://s55.radikal.ru/i148/0908/bc/d9042aff49d6.png

hmm, about that statusbar/tray, will it grow rightwards when more icons are put into it, removing the window title in the process?
