I uninstalled all my other media players and rebooted the device. It's playing videos again.

My other problem is, after updating, my version still says 1.2009.44-1.002

However, inside the application manager, it says I have 2.2009.51-1.002 installed

Also, I now have an item in my updates labelled Maemo 5 2.2009.51-1.002 with a size of 0 kb. When I try to install it, it says I do not have enough space to install it. Although my rootfs is not full.

reboot will take that away from there, it is saying that because you have already got the update. and/or its actually a 90mb file which nobody has a space for..

weird

Let me explain something - security procedures on many sites like that includes saving some cookie or signature. After upgrade it is natural to expect re-login because of that - signature changes.

The MicroB browser doesn't load any webpages for me anymore, but the Firefox Fennec works perfectly. I tried to empty cache with no luck, I will try to flash the device today :E.

E: It seems to work on Wi-Fi, but on 2G/2,5G, not sure about 3G it just endlessly loads the page :E.

Synchronizing with Google calendar using mail for exchange is not working. It worked perfectly before. I thought exchange support was supposed to be better in this version.

I backed up my settings, reflashed, and then restored, but sync did not work. So, I deleted the account and tried to add it again. It won't get past the initial sync: it gets about 90% through "Calendar and tasks", then hangs for about 5 minutes, then gives me a message that says "Error in communication with Exchange server".

EDIT: works now. I deleted all my contacts and had it synchronize to a new calendar.

This new update seem to be very sluggish and laggy. Sometimes you have to keep pressing to get thing run or switch. For example: SMS

I think 42.11 is better than 51.1

I also think that the 51.1 is a bit slower on the opration system side*. Multitasking, changing between windosw etc. seems slower, nothing drastic though. Apps seem to be running OK, browsing is as fast as ever and games work as they did before.

I noticed that now the FM transmitter sends MP3 tag to the receiver which is nice. Before the screen only said NOKIA.

However the slight performance drop on the OS and the incredibly slow volume key make me wish that I had not updated to this revision.

* might be just reverse placebo effect

this is what i would try :

flash to the very first firmware ... then without installing anything keep updating it to the latest firmware.

My n900 is running very smooth, so far its doing what it should be doing :)
