My angst is direct towards Nokia, this community rocks. Heck if it wasn't for maemo.org i would have filed a case against Nokia for selling me a phone which cant dial USSD codes...Lol....Are u kidding me...I know its a tablet and all..But when you sold me this phone, you said it could make calls. So why cant it dial USSD codes...alright, so it will be fixed soon..Endless wait for PR1.2 entails .....Ridiculous. I hope Nokia employees lurk around on Maemo forums. So atleast they know that how to lose customers and alienate the fan base. |

Even the developers are complaining on this very forum because the OS is just not supporting them ! now if no one understands that then maybe they need to go read all of this forum from start to finish.

Having said everything i said though i have to say the N900 for me is one heck of a toy to play with even with the problems of the usb connector and OS.

Re: Here Is Why The PR 1.2 Firmware For The Nokia N900 Is Late
I'm sorry most of the replies seems to be we don't care, Nokia doesn't care.. Well eventually they will, when they have lost major chunks of their profit margins. Which is already under way, by their declining sales in the US. if it wasn't for India and China, and their strong sales selling mid-range cellphones their, Nokia would have long shut their shop and winded off. Just a small analogy, wouldn't hurt to throw one in *sigh* ... I left my last employer after years of hard work to no avail. When i resigned, i was kind of pissed at the management. But this is what i got a reply from most of my ex-colleagues and some managers. Dude, no one cares, the company moves on, someone new will come, things would be the same, nothing affects the Evil Empire...blah blah... Well guess what, it did affect....Not immediately. But our clients who were used to a very quick resolution of their problems got irked over by the new incompetent support engineers. They couldn't find a good resource and 3 major accounts canceled their support contracts. Millions of dollars of lucrative contract money lost in a period of a quarter.
Moral of the story kids : Just one person or a customer also matters. Apple build their brand around their fan base. I don't subscribe to any views perpetuated by Mr. Jobs and his cronies. But good ole Steve knows how to keep the star trek crowd happy. |
Re: Here Is Why The PR 1.2 Firmware For The Nokia N900 Is Late
Yep i have to agree once again and Nokia was very clever indeed to release to China simply because of the very fact sales were declining everywhere they had already released the N900 and China is the worlds next biggest population so yes a very clever move by management and their sales directives.
Also the reason Nokia had to come up with something new as in the leaked fw because they do NOT want the Chinese market to flag !. |
