... so I borrowed a N770 and I made it work on there as well. The latest version for both N770 and N800 is 2.0.0-0nix20 .

Check http://gaim.garage.maemo.org/ for repository information.

I couldn't get the windows to group nicely as they do on N800 for now, but ...

I just uninstalled version -19 and installed -20. Now it appears to start loading and then just stops. The application doesn't seem to run. Can someone help with this. -18 and -19 worked fine.

After an upgrade to 20 Gaim no longer starts.

Sorry - I overestimated how easy it was to get the "loading" banner going. It's now gone. Please update your N800 to version 2.0.0-0nix21 .

I left the N770 version as it was (2.0.0-0nix20), because the "loading" banner seems to work there.

It's working now, but I can't find GAIM in Simple Launcher now. I had a shortcut when I installed v18, updated to v19, and updated to v20. I uninstalled v20 because it wasn't working then installed v21, but now I can't add it back to Simple Launcher for some reason. No big deal as I have a GAIM shortcut in my program list. Thanks for the hard work nix_nix!

I cant even start gaim for some reason. Loading...loading then nothing.

I had this until I un-istalled everything, and then did a hard reboot (battery removal). Re-installed and everything worked just fine. It even upgraded without any problems. The author did a great job with this.

Actually after getting a bit used to the name pidgin it's not all that bad. Whenever I mention Gaim to people the usually mix it with 'Gain'. The word Pidgin reminds abit about 'pigeon' and the real meaning of the word also makes a bit of sense :)

lol, already spelled it wrong. Hope they also buy the domain pigdin.im....

I installed Gaim v.2.0.0-Onix22 on my N800. The application itself works fine with my Yahoo account, but when I try to connect to MSN, I get the message "Reading error" and after a few seconds "Unable to connect". Is it because there is no support for SSL? Thanks for your help.
