It's got my attention - as since Nokia have failed to support the N900 properly I will be selling my N900.

Re: iPhone 4

I'd just replace the insides of N810 with N900 and slap on a better sensors and flash. And mod the hard buttons, so that they are usable for calling the last number or picking up an incoming call.

Hardware is cake, really. And when you're guaranteed to push as many units as Apple, you can get interesting things made for you (such as your own SoC, higher resolution displays, etc.) And within a few months we'll probably see other vendors come out with similar screens, as volume goes up.

All of Apple's "magic" is in the software. All of it. And that's what has allowed them to clean the clock of every other smartphone manufacturer in the US market for the past 3 years. They -get- software. They -get- user-experience. And as a result they got all the users who had ignored windows mobile, blackberry, and palmos previously.

To allow people to have apps for free that they are too cheap to buy.

Typical reliance on hardware specs... it will fall into the cracks

GSMarena

From Apple:
"All the breakthrough technology in iPhone 4 is situated between two glossy panels of aluminosilicate glass — the same type of glass used in the windshields of helicopters and high-speed trains. Chemically strengthened to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic, the glass is ultradurable and more scratch resistant than ever. It’s also recyclable."

See more at 5:20 of this video (link).

If both the front and the back glass are scratch resistant, that would mean, there's no need for protector cases.

Gyroscope :D

To be fair, if you sat down with a list you could probably name a hundred features. I just particularly like gyroscopes :)

I never thought I'd get a hard-on over material technology.
