I had the same problems. I also couldn't install Preenv. I ended up installing the original modest. This solved all the issues.

Ok, now there are no major problems uninstalling mp-fremantle .... and modest works well in portrait mode.

There are bugs such as horizontal scrolling, and others but I have no objection to it.

I have the PR 1.3 and dualboot with Andriod Gingerbread.

Thanks again MohammadAG

Re: [Announce] Portrait mode support in modest (w/ fixes)

Cannot use this with the Community SSU enabled :S

I get the following error when trying to install anything use the 'apt-get' command

Code:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
mp-fremantle-community-pr: Depends: modest (>= 3.90.7-5) but 3.2.13-3+0m5 is to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution)

Can someone please tell me how I can resolve this without having to reinstall the 'Landscape Only Modest'?

Re: [Announce] Portrait mode support in modest (w/ fixes)

i did the directions, even with the current updates from CSSU.

after using the

Code:

dpkg -i modest_3.2.13-3+0m5_armel.deb
xterminal showed:

Code:

dpkg - warning:  downgrading modest from 3.90.7-5 to 3.2.13-3+0m5.
and it seemed to work fine.

personally, i dont care about the downgrade...itll be a major upgrade if it works, as my modest crashes incessantly now that i have done the
CSSU upgrades. :/

i have a question...is this supposed to auto rotate the modest email client?

i still have to do the ctrl/shift/r in order to get it to work.
