Already using gnome 3 and it is good, that's not my problem.

I just can't get everything like i want it, so i think im going back to 10.10, can't really see what fedora should accomplish, the worst thing right now is wine, many games crashes, GTA IV gets drunk camera now..., but i got nothing to loose so i can try it.

I just got to get these things to work, i recommend linux to people and some are games and such, i must admit now that i have been using 12.04 im have to say where there have been some improvements but there have been ALOT of draw backs, the 11' series was a disaster.

Guess ill take a look at 12.10, but for now i cannot justify an upgrade from my úber nice 10.10 setup's

I use XUbuntu 12.04 + Unity (ubuntu-desktop package) + Gnome Classic (gnome-panel package). I prefer to work on Xfce and sometimes using Gnome Classic.

I also think that 10.10 was one of the best refined ubuntu releases but I cannot stick to such old software (apps). I cannot add a ppa for each application I use and most of my everyday applications (netbeans, gimp, inkscape, libreoffice, firefox etc) have grown by leaps and bounds since 2010

As for securiy I don't think there should be a problem unless you host a public web (or other) server.

Remember to install rpmfusion repositories right after the first boot, or you'll wonder why there is missing and not found many apps.
Both free and nonfree:

Re: The Ubuntu Thread

My personal opinion is that Gnome Shell is too cluttered. At first I was impressed but in the long run it's overwhelming. I like unity as it has evolved in 12.04. The only thing I would get back is the BFB on the upper left corner and dodge windows.

Re: The Ubuntu Thread

well that's it, going back to 10.10, fedora is just one big mess if you ask me, and not the first time i used it.

Tried about all dist's back in the 9.10 days (installed not LiveCD), but ubuntu was the best, well zorin was the best (worked best out of the box), but before i go back to 10.10 i think ill try the latest zorin.
