This is hilarious, since it is you who constantly insists on having the last word. I let people score points against my opinion all the time without responding. The reason so many threads you are in turn into brawls is that you don't have a good sense of when to stop fighting. I do.

We're not "dictating" anything? Do you even know the definition of the word? We're merely sharing a mutual view towards you and your activities on this forum. Isn't that what you want? You mentioned earlier that this forum _should_ be a like minded collective of individuals sharing a common interest. Well, you're our common interest in the absence of anything actually interesting. Because that is all this forum is now...

Goddamit, my timetravel agent seems to have ripped me off! :( I din't get to see any dramas when I was there last week. I had to spend most of time listening to Aristotle yak on about something called syentifyk method or something...

Anyway, as for useful tags, apart from the infamous atroll_uk and adick_uk tags (which like to many other threads), most of the tags only link to at-most 2 threads. So I don't know... Does anybody even use tags?

I have your solution.

Make tagging available to people with high post-to thanks ratio. Whether this is fixed or not, it's debatable. Keep it at 1:2 ratio or so.

On the funny side, I vote we keep ratio to just one over abill's ratio.

And no, it's not free speech. If insulting is against rules it's against rules on all mediums. What next, I can insult people via text files attached?

Frankly, IMO, we need this fixed because it is a nuissance. "Don't read it" is not an answer, because, frankly, I could tell you to go jump, and add a disclamer.

Disclamers don't excuse any behavior, as we all know. I understand that moderation here is hard already, but let (some of us) help.

Several options:
* allow people who can tag to untag.
* restrict tagging to better users.
* restrict tags (but terrorists win)
* implement a vote down window, where people can disagree with tags. 3 votes de-tags. I will take some time to clean it up.

OTOH, a similar problem is haunting the thanks system and the rating system, to a lesser degree.

Like I've already mentioned though, you asked for a communal discussion between like minded people and we're giving it to you. Now, about your contributions to the community, I don't know if you've done anything at all. I'm mainly working on/with MeeGo now-a-days, but if you're going to be a complete lame *** and blame me for you not releasing anything. Well that's just absurd. If you've got something to give you shouldn't let people stop you giving it. I don't let you stop me from contributing, even if I'd rather not give my contributions to someone as arrogant and seemingly self-absorbed as you come across to me. But there are far more people on this forum than just you, and luckily your insanity is pretty much just localised to you.
