Re: Announce: USB Mode (easy switch to USB host mode)
Anyone able to use ntfs formatted flash drives or hdd's. After power kernel v51 with pali's usb mode I am not able to use my ntfs flash drives. And I am getting troubles with my flash drives some times usb mode does not working or connecting my flash drives correctly sometimes work perfectly. I have problem with My Toshiba trans memory 16gb flash drive i think power 51 does not have this driver. Because i am not able to use fat or other formats. But this mode is very easy some flash drives mounting in 30 seconds automatically.
Thank you pali thank you for your hard work. Thanks for advance. Sorry for my bad english. |
Re: Announce: USB Mode (easy switch to USB host mode)

Re: Announce: USB Mode (easy switch to USB host mode)
@byemre, NTFS is still problematic on linux desktop. So you do not expect that NTFS will work on N900 without any problem. Rather use some working linux filesytem as ext3.
@azkay, you cannot start usb host mode if external power supply is connected. |

Re: Announce: USB Mode (easy switch to USB host mode)
@ade, I forgot to write that new kernel-power v52 is incompatible with usbmode.sh script. New version of usbmode (which will be compatible with both v51 and v52) I upload in next days. Here is (unreleased) patch: https://gitorious.org/rx51-bme-repla...ec77f8b9fbaff9

Re: Announce: USB Mode (easy switch to USB host mode)
Great app!
This should have been included by Nokia with the phone but we know that story. Makes sense to put it up with other status bar connect functions like WiFi and Bluetooth rather than loading an an app like with H-E-N. Very professional, works great! When will it be on the repos? |
Re: Announce: USB Mode (easy switch to USB host mode)
One thought on an already amazing system app for the N900.
Perhaps put a colored USB symbol in the notification area similar to the blue one when mass storage is running, perhaps red and green to indicate host mode charging/boost is running. Not sure what color or modified icon best indicates host with charge capable vs host with boost mode, maybe based on the OTG symbol? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_OTG |
