Joined last month, but only just found this thread!
My very first mobile was a Nokia 6150. 10 years later I'm back with Nokia, eagerly awaiting a N900.
Very excited, not only about the N900, but about being part of this community :)

You've got a good thing going on here, I've been following this community every once in a while since my first design gig for N810. So yeah, I'm a freelance designer (UI/3D/motion graphics) currently working with icons, themes and other design/multimedia related content for the N900. I've designed for few other mobile platforms (iPhone, S40/60, UiQ, OS2008) but never been this pumped about UI design before, I think we'll see some beautiful stuff running on N900.

Just getting my feet wet here in the community and looking for ways to contribute too. I'll be opening a site with N900 related content in the near future, just need to get the device first to test everything :) Feel free to contact me with design related stuff.

I have not said hello, yet so here it goes.

I'm 39, have a computer science BSc, and work in industrial image analysis / microscopy. I have enjoyed handheld computing since my Psion Series 3a. Looking forward to my N900 :) Hopefully I can get some developing done.

Hi :) i do not own a n8*0 but i want to buy a n900 when it's avaible. i'm really impressed by maemo and so i thought may i can contribute and join :D.
Currently i'm working for Novell/SUSE Linux as QA Softwareengineer.
looking forward to contribute and my n900 ;)

EDIT: one of my work colleagues borrowed me the n810 for a few weeks. just great, so i can get experience with maemo. )

Just wanted to say hello.
Looking forward to receiving my pre-ordered N900 handset.
I will mainly be visiting this page for apps and games - since N900 will be my entertainment center.

Oh btw, how do i add an avatar picture? Tried looking in Control Panel - but had no luck.

Hi everybody!

I just registered today in the hope of making the waiting time for the n900 any shorter. Actually it just got worse... But never mind, here I am! :D

I should be writing my thesis these days (elliptic curve cryptography) but i find myself spending more and more time surfing for information bits about the n900. So Nokia, you better hurry releasing this device or else I will hold you responsible for my failed thesis!

hey guys you who keep in this forum and know it good, please post link here of threads on this forum where I could find information related to WCDMA 850/1900 on N900. Don´t know if they will include that frecuency, if they will do, I would like know when in order to cancel my current pre-order and just wait for next release with WCDMA 850/1900!

Hey, Im new to Maemo just pre-ordered my N900 the other day wanting to get away from the restrictions on Iphone. Hopefully the Applications for Maemo will be great and the OS will be a hit.. Also does anyone know about any Golf GPS programs in developement. I found "scorecard" but it doesnt seem as detailed as other OS apps for this purpose.

Hi everyone,
Another new member here, eagerly waiting my pre-ordered N900!

At the moment I design themes for Symbian devices and I'm very interested of expanding also to Maemo, as soon as I get some experience of it :) (and hopefully figure out how to get all necessary programs to run on Windows, if possible... :rolleyes:)

Hi everybody. I'm a web developer and am currently looking to buy my first smartphone. It will most probably be the Nokia N900, since I really like the device and the Maemo OS. I also plan on starting with some mobile development in my spare time. I already installed the Maemo SDK and probably will hammer you with lots of newbie questions. :)

like a lot of new members I'm here because of the n900 !
I had several nokia devices (5510 6600 6680 e71) and ever been dreaming of an open device like this.

I'm student in a school of engineering and I'm learning Qt/C++ in my spare time (since I'm waiting for the n900). I've been reading this forum for almost two months and I'm really happy to say hello now ;)

I have pushed back for years my first smartphone purchase.

Maemo 5 and N900 seems to have enough attributes that I wish to see in platform compared to other alternatives.

I'm not coder or hacker, but I hope that I can contribute in some other way.

long-time Nokia user (13 years, thank you very much), returning to Nokia after the N97 fiasco, thanks to the Maemo community & N900.

I had an N810, which I loved, but was not carrying around (=did not use it to its full potential). I have no Linux knowledge and I have not been programming since who-knows-when, but I'll still try to be a contributing member of the Maemo community.

Hello, I currently have a Android phone. I have had several Nokia phones in the past. I have now pre ordered the N900.There is a new sheriff in town and goes by the name of N900.

I am also a long time Linux user and if time permits may try and develop some stuff.
