I just rang them, and was told "after the 9th" (specifically), so that could well mean that shipping starts on the 9th.

I've had a similar email from Nokia today to verify my N900 order.
He also informed me that due to some warehouse problem with the allocation of the units they also had to cancel and re-place my order (though apparently not losing my place in the queue).

The man on the phone confirmed that they will be receiving them on the 9th, and will ship them that day, so they should be with us sometime that week.

just got off the phone they told me , pre-orders from nokia uk will be shipped one week from monday, not even weorked out the date of that but i'm so bloody excited cant wait.
everyone knows i hate these speculation threads so take it how u want but i'm happy knowing what i know

You're site says Mid November - not as 'exclusive'. Could you verify if your going to start shipping at the same time? If not I'll order directly from them.

just got new emails one was canceling order others was that it had been ordered, i dont think its any con just looked in my nokia shop account and new order is there.
i really hope they are telling us the truth when they said by having to re-order we are not pushed to the back of the list

Just checked on nokia.co.uk There are now two orders there, so I guess the guy with the scandinavian accent was kosher. No discernable difference between the two orders. Here's hoping I don't end up with two :-)

maybe hes telling the truth but twisting it a little,
Nokia will start shipping there own pre-orders on the 9th but 3rd party retailers will have to wait a week longer for nokia to stock them maybe, this is always the case in the past Nokia UK have always shipped the UK pre-ordered versions a week or two before they stock anyone else with UK versions. but that does not mean you wont find Euro versions on sale in UK before hand by 3rd party retailers

Hi,
Any of you UK guys pre-order from Nokia using some discount codes? I got the mail to contact Nokia, but it seems they have further difficulties and said they need to talk to management first and get back to me!? I'm wondering if the discount codes are confusing things, especially if they have now expired, maybe a new order isn't straight forward. Or they don't like it that I had a discount!

I'll update if they get back in touch.

i'm not using codes,
but i can see how using codes will be problem though as they are having to re-order devices for us and if codes are now invalid you will have to pay more

I used discount codes, and when I phoned about an hour ago the rep confirmed the price with discount codes and despatch during the first week of Nov. I haven't received any emails yet, so I guess this could change.

Hoping the codes remain valid - I don't think I would be willing to pay full price.

Nokia guy told me that we are fine as long as the re-auth on the credit card was successful we keep our placement, mine was OK thankfully, so I'm hoping to get my N900 in my hands on the 11/12th

I received an sms from nokia ES with a discount code worth 15% off, on Oct 20th, valid until Oct 21st. Quite weird that It was only valid for 2 days...

So, I headed to nokia.es to update my preorder and make use of such nice discount, there was no way to do it via the webpage and I called Nokia ES orders support, so that they would make the changes on my behalf.

Guess what? The rep told me the discount code was NOT valid for the N900, because such discount codes are only valid for NON-preorders.

I have the feeling that they have sent such discount codes for all n900 preorders, but somehow they are contradicting themselves.... Could someone from inside please clarify on this...?

Edit: I forgot to mention that I checked myself at nokia.es that placing a new order with the discount code, was rejected due to the same reason the rep told me, so maybe it is different policy here in spain... Congrats to those who have made use of the discount ;-)

OK, so we know that the USA guys had their orders cancelled and had to re-order, and in the UK we have just had to re-confirm our orders. What is going on? Any ideas?

Amazon seems OK with taking credit card details well in advance of shipping, so I don't think it is credit card legal stuff. Do they think that a lot of orders are just fake or duplicates from guys who have ordered in 3 or 4 places to see which comes in first? I was told they would take the money next week.

Amazon have never dinged my card for any amount, I presume that as soon as they have stock, they'll run the charge, and if all is OK, send my order to the 'shipping' stage.
