My sky remote no longer works, shame as it was the 1 and only remote that worked :( tried rebooting phone etc etc, worked great before, updated to pr1.2 now nothing :(

Flashing PR1.2 did not solve the empty remotes page. Program author, please fix this bug! Tell me how I can help you do that. Thank you.

Qtirreco no longer works after the 1.2 update. Can anyone else confirm this?


Edit: My old remote no longer works. I've tried downloading a slightly different version of the remote and it seems to work... idk

yup i confirm that.
same problem as before.
EMPTY remotes page :@!
i flashed my emmc and IRRECO worked for a bit.
then it stopped working too.
its not picking up the remote codes for sum reason.
(downloaded xbox 360 remote. worked once completely.next time i opened it, edit button->add a command.couldnt FIND any commands!
the xbox commands arent there any more! any fix?)

HEY chadim!
i think ive found a temporary fix to OUR problem.
download whatever remotes u want from the IRRECO app.
it will be saved in the internallircdevices folder inside the irreco folder. copy those files (in my case the xbox360 file) and paste them into the Devices folder in qtirreco.
now once you create a new remote and create a new button for the remote, youll be able to see the pasted file (eg:xbox360)
then its just patient work to create all the buttons and your good to go!
check it out and let me know asap!
(i know it defeats the purpose of having qtirreco in the 1st place, but check it out n see if it works!)

mines pritty small. is there anyway i could boost the ir signals the same way you use fm booster to boost the fm transmitter strength?

About 3 or 4 meters? What about you? Make you you are not partially blocking the IR port, and close the keyboard, it may make a difference.

I'd like to add that there are a few non working features in our version, mangal_sk8erboy.
  1. It is not possible to set the delay between multiple commands, it is stuck to 3000ms (it can only be changed from the file).
  2. The background color can not be changed, only an image can be added.
  3. As before, no remotes can be downloaded, nor themes.

@mangal_sk8erboy: can you confirm?
@program author: is it possible to find the error now?

can anyone tell me if the sanyo remotes ever worked? i have a sanyo 42" bought last year that i use as my computer monitor. i'd like if the n900 could operate it.

so far i have tried EVERY remote under sanyo both for the pre and post qt irreco release versions. please email me or message me! i'm desperate!

after downloading and trying each button for every downloadable sanyo remote, i have not found a single remote that works with my sanyo tv. the saddest part of this is that the same universal remote for all sanyo home entertainment products has been used for nearly 3 years. awesome.

Is there a way to get all the controls of a remote defined and just scroll through them, then select? It looks like you only get one page of buttons, yet most remotes will fill more than one page. Does this mean that I need to create multiple remotes for the same device and put different buttons on each?

btw i have CRAZY news man!
dude i generally stay in dubai yeah..my qtirreco never worked..
but now im in the USA on a holiday, popped open qtirreco, and IT WORKS!WITHOUT A PROBLEM!THEMES AND EVERYTHING TOO!!so im thinking that its got something to do with the isp or our routers??

it is working for me, but the latest one in the Extra-Devel is having a bug right now. It works but after you've installed it, it will somewhat interrupting with the pulse Audio and causing the audio to paused and stuttering, even worst when you press the power button it will paused the music for atleast 2seconds and then stuttering a bit afterward.

I suggest install the one from Extra-testing as this works like a charm with no known bug for me :D

my Qtirreco stopped working too. I flashed PR1.2, downloaded Qtirreco again from testing and the remote no longer works.

# apt-get remove --purge lirc qtirreco
# rm -rf /home/user/qtirreco

# apt-get install qtirreco

Answer YES to overwrite lirc conf file.

Maybe the progeam author should take that in consideration....

can you test it again when you're back to dubai to see if this is really the problem?

About the empty remote selection dialog. I have no clue why it happens. I did some testing and got similar results if the server responds with something that qtirreco won't understand (ie 404 error page).

I would like to help you fix that: please provide a "debug" mode for this app, so that when it is launched from the terminal, for example qtirreco --debug, and when "Download remote" is pressed, the server response is written to a log file. Then I can provide you with the logfile and you see what is wrong. Can you please add that debug mode?

I also own a panasonic tv with same problem. Any fix for this power on problem ?
I try to chain several (10) power on command, with 100ms, 10ms, 1ms, 0ms, but that doesn't work.
Or is there a way to have the signal duration to 2000 ms ? Or can we register the raw signal with irrecord and integrate it to qtirreco ?

can't get it working in any possible way :S

deleted it, re installed it, removed all files associated with it, download the correct remote, also tried others. It seems as if IR is not working at all. Any ideas as how to resolve this?

Now i've even performed a reset. No difference :(

Confirmed, it only works on a fresh install (and deleting the qtireco folder in MyDocs). After a reboot it no longer works.

Must be something PR1.2 did since it was working before.

Edit: For anyone who is having similar issues..

If you have a Macbook with an IR port, can you try raemote to see if it works?

Alternatively can people try the irreco widget? To see if that works.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Seems that qtirreco does not report to user if lirc backend has any troubles :-(

Old irreco may be even more stable.

And that remote selection dialog with kinetic scrolling and spontaneously activated/expanded items and no search is really ugly.

The reasoning why is pretty simple. Likely the people making these codes don't own one.

As for this working or not, I'm finding this absolutely maddening. I had it working a while ago, even did a reboot or two to see if it still worked (using version in extras).

Then added an Apple Mac IR codes, one for my digital TV tuner, and one for my TV.

No longer works. >.<

So I think I've found out why the app seems to randomly stop working (but this is grounded in observation). It seems if you download too many remotes it won't work anymore. But if you stick to one or two then it works fine.

Maybe it's a limitation on how many devices lirc can deal with?

I connected to a neighbor's wireless network and was able to download remotes finally!

I am not sure if it is a router or ISP issue....

As for "operation failed" (which is offtopic :P), try rebooting, it happens sometimes with me.
