well if your using the old version the path for bios isnt home/user/ its elsewhere, the path was changed when it was updated, dont know where the old path is. so if u updated, should work otherwise u need the old path.

Yes, that is what I mean by the PS logo. I did not get it until changing the bios to lower case and press the option to load with bios. If the app says "loaded bios" or something similar, it has not loaded.

I've been following this project on and off for a couple of weeks and must say that smoku is a genius. Love the SixAxis app/script.

Is this ready for testing in devel? or is it still a manual install? I am still not confident enough todo that yet.

Is there anyway of mapping the wiimote buttons to play psx4all? I currently dont have a sixaxis control with me.

FFVII is running great now, very playable, but id like to try it out with a controler, right now a wiimote if possible

Having a dot before the name means it is hidden. If you're using a 3rd party file manager. it should have an enable hidden files options.

if you're using the terminal, command: ls -a shows hidden files.
You can then use the command: "rm" to delete it.

PSX4All 0.3.3 in extras-devel has a not finished, but usable GUI.
It also uses Hildon Animation Actor to scale the display, so it should be faster and have better quality.

Do not remove your key configuration (/home/user/.psx4all) as the current version hasn't got key configuration UI yet. ;)

or just ensure ALL the nokia repos are enabled when u update :D

edit: I cannot install either! All repos enabled... wont update due to:

I think smoku have PR1.2 SDK and this version of psx4maemo created in PR1.2SDK

Did this. Still getting that error.
xterm says that libhildon1 and libhildonmime0 are already the latest version.

So i managed to find a way to install the new release 0.3.3.

I do not recommend it to people who only wants to install it, just to play games, and not to test the software and help developer.

The new release has an incomplete gui, sound toggle still dosent work. You can't access the graphics settings either. And it no longer runs in fullscreen. The new release is a step towards a better GUI, but if your only in it for playing games, stick with the earlier release.

Also the way i installed this even made me nervous about bricking my device.

Anyways, it does seem to maybe run a little smoother, but with out the ability to turn on frameskip and mess with cycle multiplier, i cannot tell for sure.

Keep up the nice work Smoku :) The project is going in a nice direction.

Thanks. I will not install this version then and wait for at least a 3.2 level version function with more goodness. The left arrow key/pause thing is still strange. Works the first time you ever install and map the keys, but does not work again if you remap.

What hangs around, even after a doing the rm command and uninstalling? Weird.

I don't see the program in any of the catalogs. Can someone please help. I used to have it and phone had to be hard reset and now cannot find it in extras/devel and if I do a search its no where to be found.

Check first post and follow the packages link with your n900, there you can download all versions of psx4all directly to your phone and install them with filemanager.

PSX4All 0.3.4 is in the repo. The UI is in place and works almost fine.

I have one problem though - the UI for mapping keys does not work.
http://github.com/smokku/psx4all/blo...c/maemo/keys.c is a direct copy from DrNokSnes and I have no idea why I cannot activate the cellrendererkey cell renderers to edit its value. :(
Until it is resolved the keymapping cannot be done.

Looks great :) will you re-implement turning off frameskip for certain elements (poly, line, etc.)? And Cycle Multiplier? those where great tools for tuning performance of the games :)

Smoku, two questions, please:

1. Any idea what causes the left arrow key to be second start key after remapping. Any chance this will get fixed?

2. Is there a practical chance that the GPU can be used in future versions? That should result in near "perfect" results for a ton of PSX games.

Is it just me or do PSX games look like crap? i just played rally cross 2 demo and the game runs perfect apart from the lasttime i played a ps1 was 6 7 years ago maybe more, just cant tell if the graphics are correct or not.

Yes it is. AFAIK psx4iphone uses OpenGL ES backend for GPU and there is a non-functioning stub for glgpu in psx4all sources.

PCSX OpenGL GPU works great with texture aliasing and real alpha blending, so it is perfectly possible to write PSX GPU emulator using hardware acceleration.

It should be even simpler with OpenGL ES 2 of N900 - you may put a lot of effort to shaders code and put even more work directly on hardware.

Please mind that the device screen has more than double the resolution of the standard TV, so you have more than 4 times the pixels on screen.

This is why the softgpu backend employs simple 2x scaler and you have huge 2x2 "pixels" for every original PSX pixel.

Things get better when you render GPU commands using OpenGL/DirectX - you just enlarge the scene, and have sharp, antialiased edges and textured rendered nicely for the full resolution.
Ex. Tekken3 looks awesome in FullHD on ePSXe on standard PC. :D

Hmm, that's weird, I uninstalled it this morning and now I updated the repos and I don't see it. EDIT - it does find psx4all through apt-get install though. Weird...
